Women who drive MINIs

Hey, i was wondering if there are women on NAM that mod their mini's other than Celia and I. it feels kind of weird to constantly be having mod conversations with a bunch of guys.

i have put vinyls on both my MINIs and currently inside Coop... someday I will be modding under the bonnet and inside the cabin for a unique feel, but until the day comes that I have got Coop's payment and my MINI card stable with some spare cash, he will still be OEM...

I started reading this and got excited thinking..."Ooh ME, ME!" and then I saw my name LOL! I guess we're a rare breed

I know there are a couple of girls on another forum that enjoying modding their Minis so I know we're not the only ones out there!

Speaking of mods, I'm waiting on my front mount intercooler and ECU chip now and I've started doing some interior mods too. Modding is a lot of fun!

Celia

If you pay someone else to mod your mini does that count? I'm a klutz!

MINI modder chick here too!!! My husband and I did them all together but its my car so I include myself in the "girls who mod their MINIs" group.

Yes paying someone to mod you counts, Chili. A mod is a mod, right? I mean not all of us can marry pinstripers and car guys like I did.

Back off ladies-------he's all mine.

Female that's been bitten by the mod bug here! Recently had 15% pulley
installed... only wish I had done it sooner. Too many other mods to list.

Just received blackout beltline kit. Will be doing that once the weather improves. Although, living the northeast, it's hard to tell when that will be.

Oh! Me!

Actually, I haven't done much that isn't cosmetic to Lewis yet. But soon! I have plans! (And money for once in my life)

Count me in! Having had 3 miatas with mods before getting the MINI, I know what you mean! I was almost always the only girl in the conversations about cars, and definately the youngest! I am proud to say that there are quite a few girls in our MINI club here in NC that have mods done to their MINI's.

I want to mod mine...but I will have a long wait to save up money after buying the car. That's if I survive the wait for the car itself!

+1 here. My 03 BRG MC has a CAI, gold stripes and some other odds and ends. Our 07 MY MCS has custom black stripes, clear bra and Wet Okole seat covers, etc. Both have at least 2 sets of wheels and tires plus all weather for winter. We also have a 99 Miata that we autoX that has mods. There will be more as time goes on I'm sure. Luckily hubby can do most of the work which leaves more $$ for "stuff".

No, you are not alone! Cecilia is modded, as is our Soulfire, who was "mine" before my husband bought me my own! And we are still going!
I will have some more stuff done to my newest baby at MOTD. We keep wanting to do more and more, but alas, money constraints...but I will keep going!

Add me to the list as well. I haven't personally installed many of the mods myself. Typically, that is left to my boyfriend. My specialty is mainly the cosmetic mods.

I've installed my own stripes (and the stripes on several other NEMINI cars). I've installed several clear bras. I also painted the dashboard, downtubes, and several trim rings on our MCC.

On the "non-fluff" side, my MCS has the following:
15% pulley (installed by Helix)
Slotted brake rotors w/ Mintex pads (though I can't wait to switch back to EBC green's when these wear out)
Stainless steel brake lines
ProMINI intake
Helix short shifter
Hella driving lights
Panasport wheels
Koni FSD's (installing this weekend)
Ireland fixed camber plates (installing this weekend)
Powerflex lower control arm bushings (installing this weekend)
19mm rear sway bar (still waiting for Helix to ship)
Stainless skid plate
Aux. input (installed by me)
Euro parcel shelf (installed by me)
Auto-up window circuit (installed by me)

I am an absolute master at getting the downtubes out of my car at this point.

Me too, though the list isn't as impressive as some previous.

Lessee..
15% pulley
air intake
rear sway bar..it's a biggie, so my guess is 19mm.
big honkin' Hella 500's ralley lights and fogs
air horn, dual trumpet
roof graphic
under the hood eyes(old and scratched and should be replaced)
3rd brake light pulsar, which I love.
auto up windows circuit
car used to be lowered, but I went back to stock suspension cuz I got tired of beating my car up.
Euro parcel shelf
Whalen custom shift ****

I am not mechanically inclined in the least so all of the above were outsourced, either to my husband or Behe Performance, formally known as Lucky Dog Garage.

Hmmmm.

On Becker, here's what's been done so far:

sexy blue glitter stripes (which were taken off because of an unfortunate run in with a tree limb during a storm. New ones are sitting in my living room waiting for warm weather.)

Sport link (installed w/the help of my dad)
15% pulley
CAI
Engine damper
Black aero grilles
Short shifter
Enkei J-10 wheels
I think that's about it.

oh. forgot about insulating the rear speakers since the verts rears vibrate too much. Taking the rear seat out...what a pita.

On Bootsi, she just had frost glitter boot/bonnet stripes.

I love modding...can't stop once you start.

I think this is how a guy views mods differently. Cosmetics don't count in the guys books of mods.

Another female modder here! Check my siggy for them, many of which I've done myself. I'm not new to mechanic work, either. I have a small fleet of classics to maintain including 2 Camaros, a '33 Plymouth and a '59 TR3.

I'm planning on the mods also but have yet to do anything. Getting other ducks in a row first. I definitely will be doing a black out and Joey Mod! From there, who knows?
