pine1 - your SS looks fab!!!! Everytime I see pics of you guys' new SS MINIs I wonder why I was a bit worried about the colour in the first place! All of them look amazing! I get mine in 5 weeks

 

Thanks for those kind words! I asked around at the dealership and a few people, Sparkling Silver is the easiest color for the car to look less dirty,(and looks fabulous) believe you me, Spring and fall in Canada, with the amount of sand soil and salt that they put on the streets, Cars get dirty fast!, So No Blacks, or Dark Blues unless you own a car wash!

Sparkling Silver was NASTY on the Mini.com configurator.
When I saw it on the dealer's lot, next to a blue and pepper white, the Sparkling Silver jumped out the most and that's why I picked this great color.

Yes, I've noticed that peoples' posting frequency drops suddenly the day they receive their car! Hmmm...I wonder why that is?

So, if you look at your MINI in the photo taken from the left front, do you notice the violet hue near the top of the left fender? The violet hue fades to greenish as you scan downward toward the top of the wheel well. It's rather subtle in person and very, very subtle in pictures. It looks to me like SS is loaded with green/violet dichroic pigment.

Or am I hallucinating?

 

Anyone have a pix of the European plates on the SS? I'm particularly interested in what the yellow plate looks like.

Don't stress about the color. I've owned many collector cars and have had about every color offered, but i get more compliments on the Sparking Silver than any other I've owned. I even had a women tell her husband "he ordered a special color.....not plain gray like yours" he had a brand new dark gray R56.

 

everytime I see the color I love it, I can't wait to see it in person!

It has been a while since I posted to this group. My car turn 1 year old in May and I can not wait to got to MTTS in Boston.
I have seen a lot of cars with the blackout of the chrome, but never seen a SS. Any of you guys do that to your car yet?

 

I've been looking for these pix too. I know the black belt line looks better, but I'm not so sure about the rest without seeing a pix. I'm imagination challenged that way.

 

Mr. Bellamy -- newly arrived in Manchester, Maryland -- is very happy to be of the Sparkling Silver variety. In the next couple of weeks, he gets new shoes (16" gunmetal Rota RBs) and a new smile (JCW black grille and trim).

Hello all! I am still very new here. Getting ready to order ( #4 on the dealer list) and am making final choices on my SS/B Clubbie. Thinking of going all out and ordering black lounge leather. Does anyone have piano black with the white color line? If you do, could you please post some pictures or send me a link? Thanks!

 

I'm having one of those freaking out about the colour days! I saw an SS convertible today and it was absolutely filthy and it looked green!! Aaagh! I keep saying to myself remember what it looked like when you saw it in the MINI showroom and it looked fabulous but seeing these dirty cars on the road does not make the waiting time a happy occassion! It just makes me worried that I picked the wrong colour HEEELP!

 

And when you see it, you will know you have picked the right color!!
I plan on just washing is often!!!!! Because I don't want a green car!!!!
I want a gold car!!!

 

Hey gemgirlpa, how is yours holding up since you got it, is it still all shiny and nice so and not green? I will be washing mine every week as I don't want it to look greenish!

Although the thing is I think about what I would've ordered if I hadn't ordered the SS and there really was no other colour that I was too keen on. I just have these phases of doubts n stuff, it's head wrecking! The sooner my lil MINI arrives the better!

My mom rang me up today to tell me that she saw an SS/B cooper today and it looked fabulous (quote), she loved it! I'm so happy, I need this reassurance while I'm in the waiting zone!
