Aquamist HFS-4 & RMW meth tune
Helo all,
Is there anyone out there running an Aquamist HFS-4 and the RMW meth tune? If so, what jet and methanol mixture are you running?
I'm trying to set up a safe baseline for some dyno pulls in the near future.
Thanks,

I personally won't tune to meth. If you ran out of meth, you'd only be stressing your engine with no injection. I've talked a lot about this with my buddies, and we all agree, we wouldn't do it unless it was a straight race car.
But if you did, a 0.6 jet would be a good size. If you ran higher than 0.6, be sure you put a restrictor in there, because anything normally bigger than 0.7 may end up bogging the engine with too much meth/water.

I'm running the .6 jet and a true 50/50 mix by weight. I will be running a mild meth tune. I was happy without it, but finally pulled the trigger. I can always revert to a safer tune.
I have an HFS-4 due to be installed in the next week or so.
After consulting with Evolve, since I already have their stage 2 map, they advised against tuning for meth since the car's ECU will already adapt to the higher octane fueling.
Actually tuning for meth is essentially just advancing the timing but if you ever run out, you will have pre-ignition at best and burnt pistons at worst.

I had consiidered the Evolve tuner, but Jan is specifically referred by Jeff at Howerton. Considering I'm running the what is arguably the best WM system on the market, coupled with the equivilant of 2 failsafes (DSS-3 and the AEM 30-3020), I'm confident in my safety margin.
That said, I've made it clear to Jan at RMW what I'm looking for, which is not an all out maximum HP dyno pull, but a well assembled system that takes all of the individual parts and melds them in to a cohesive package.
Good luck with the install, nothing too scary, just a little time consuming routing everything. If you are tapping your own ECU, I strongly suggest soldering on the leads, I've never been a fan of Posi-taps.

Pure meth is toxic, but if you live in the colder climates, odds are your washer fluid is roughly 25% methanol. If your previous owner installed the system properly, it should be vented outside the car, so that shouldn't be a concern. If you mix your own it could be an issue, but there is premix available from Snow Performance, if you prefer.
how does the HFS-4 kit vent to the outside? (couldn't find the install instructions on their site, which i would assume is very intentional). If you were to run out of meth with a RMW tune (or any tune tuned for meth) does the mini support the failsafe functions in the HFS-4 controller? one being automatically swapping maps in the ECU? (i believe the answer is no to swapping maps). would the correct course of action then be to just pull over, or pull into the pit area if at the track, and use the flash tool to flash a lesser, or even stock, map to get you home w/o causing damage?
thanks

There are 2 attached hoses to the tank, both run through the rear. One obviously runs to the front, while the other stays out back for venting. I don't know anything about RMW tuning, so hopefully someone can chime in on how to switch maps when you're out of meth. For sure there is no swap on the fly maps. I can't think of anyone making that possible at this point.
Not sure this is available for 2nd gen
