All this JCW talk helps the wait

I have a JCW that's in the production stage. should be completed next week, and get to the MINI dealership in Oklahoma about mid June Then I have to wait for the aero kit to be installed before I get to take it home. Nice to have a group that is only for the 09 JCW's! might help make this wait a little shorter

Your patience will soon be rewarded with a great driving experience.
I've had mine for 3 weeks and have put 1700 miles on it already.
Fast,nimble and a great soundtrack!
Hang in there!

I have heard that a lot! I am hoping I don't get hung up waiting on a boat! Seems like from the post I've read so far, that catching the boat or not catching the boat is one of lifes great mysteries

Right now you probably think you know the pain that goes along with ordering and waiting. You don't fully know the depth of it until you find yourself watching a boat crossing the ocean via ship tracking software.

I keep thinking that I want to get my wife a MINI of her own... but I'm not sure I'm emotionally ready for another wait.

Yeah, I'm in KC. Although since I was a kid Arrowhead has always been here, the baseball team has always been the Royals, and I've never known a KC basketball team. This makes me think we may not be the same age

I remember logging in to check the status update of my MINI each day, and my wife always knew because of the song that plays on the site while they pull up your info. She knew the sickness was getting worse when I would hum the song on my way to the computer.

Funny how ya get older but the toys always seem the same

ya, my wife has adjusted rather well, but she thinks I shouldn't turn the volume up so loud, and I should be in there looking like I am enjoying the tunes

How do you like the JCW steering wheel? does that have the multi-function features? I was told two different things, 1) I could get the multi-function feature and 2) I could NOT get it. but its' an add on at the dealership so I figured I could add the steering wheel after it gets here.

I ordered the JCW steering wheel with multifunction and the dealer told me no problem(Dealer told me to order MFSW and then they would add on the JCW wheel at dealership). I'm picking the car up next weekend. Also, excellent color choice! That's what I went with!

They are going to install the Leather JCW Wheel when my MINI gets in. Which I hope will be soon...found out it's in the paint shop today! Becoming CHILI RED before I know I will be on a boat!

Congratulations on the new Mini

The wait will be worth it. Your color choice is excellent and I'm sure you will love just looking at it when you are not driving it. I have a 2009 JCW and I love it more every time I drive it. I purchased mine off the lot back in October 2008 and just turned 4,000 perfect miles. I' sure you will let us know when your ship comes in.

oh yeah! You got lucky they had a couple of JCW's on the lot here, but just missed on the options. ( no CHILI REDS )

Nice looking MINI at the present time I am stuck using the JCW pic from their website for my wall paper on my computer, that's ok, but I would rather have mine on there!

Yeah I thought I saw those specs before. Sweet MINI I added some of the Rooster Red Interior (just trim line) but, sometimes in my work I get a little dirty, I was worried about messing up the seats, so I figured I better go with a black (a.k.a. carbon). You know with that Chili Red your horsepower goes from 208 upto 230hp (it's a secret though)

I have been interested in coilovers. I believe they are bettter than short sport springs because they will allow the full length of the shock for rebound. I have looked at a lot of information on NAM regardign coilovers and the three popular ones are H&R, M7 and Cross. The H&R is about $1,200, but does not include adjustable camber plates. You will re-use the stock plates. Both M7 and Cross have adjustable camber plates and both have adjustable dampening settings. The cross is adjustable on the top so you would have to cut the body of the JCW to get to the rear shock setting control or take them out to adjust them. The M7 coilover is adjustable on the bottom of the shock and will allow for quick manual adjustments. I am going for the M7 but they are currently out of stock. I think they are the biggest bang for the buck at $1,500 and have the right features for the JCW.

Well there is also the KW series, but KW-1 has a predetermined non-adjustable dampening and the KW-2's do not have the camber adjustment plates and cost as much or more than the M7s.

I would rather not do any cutting that's for sure, any links on the M7's, are they priced about the same? thanks
