I ended up ordering the JCW suspension the reasons vary from peoples post talking about it doing a good job and lowering it a little, but the main reason I went with it was that it's a factory type part (installed at the dealership) I went through doing some mods to a new Hummer I got 6 months ago but I have found even though the dealership did the install I had to go to the store they got the stuff from to have any adjustments done a total pain in the rear

Good move. I think you will love the JCW suspension. I love mine and think it might be my #1 upgrade! The standard suspension was just an under performer for me. Decent but if you push your Mini then it has flaws.

I guess the JCW coilovers only lower a JCW factory car 1/2 inch below stock height...right?

yeah, that seems to be what I have heard the most (1/2"), one person posted 1" but I don't know for sure I just had troubles with some add-ons before, and my wife reminded me how I was about the whole ordeal, to the point I don't want the H2 anymore. and I really like the MINI I have coming, I don't want to do the same thing again? might not be a issue, but, still not worth the risk for me anyway

I thought about that too, and of course I don't have Hummer trouble... but I wanted to go up to 2 inches... at least 1 inch, and the M7 coilovers have an adjustment on the bottom to adjust the firmness so I think I am going that route. Most of the others, including the JCW, H&R can not be adjusted for the dampening strength. And those that can (even the JIC Cross) have the adjustment on the top... so you can't access the adjustment **** in the rear because it goes up into the frame... unless you cut an access hole.

I haven't bought the M7s yet though so I have no after-action report.

I do know that I want to get the car lowered at least 1 inch though.

I hear ya I am sure it will be cool
the troubles I have with my Hummer are on the minor side just annoying, door chimes and turn signals are way too loud, nothing major or big enough for them to feel like they need to put any effort into fixing it.

one thing about our MINI's is there is so many different ways to trick them out they might not be any better but I know I will sleep better with the JCW's and I only have one place to take it to. they can't keep saying it's the other guys fault

just got a vanity plate that says "WRKS" and took it down to have it tinted @35%... which is the limit in this state. I think it looks a lot better now with the black top and windows. Only cost $150 and took about an hour. They didn't have to remove any door panels and did a real professional job. Will post picutes later.

yeah post soon that sounds sweet I am not sure what our % limit is here, I take mine to alta mere they do a great job, takes them no time at all. that will be the first stop on my way home. I ordered my stripes today. Black "viper" kinda like the sport stripes but with a little stripe down each side, all the way down the bumper, and the kinda like checkers for the sides it's that pattern that JCW uses.

It's a good thing it's back on... I was counting the number of coopers vs cooper S vs JCW's on the boat... you know out of 385 coopers on the boat only 7 were JCW hardtops

figures... my dealer said they only produced 1600 JCWs. I will tell you that I took mine out on a Mini rally and the stock JCW could easily out perform any of the tuned/modded minis. I think a few of those guys were a little disappointed to see me on their bumper. I wasn't allowed to lead or I would have been out of sight.

I can't wait for it to get here I know there are hardly any JCW's here in Oklahoma. I think mine will make 2 I was checking with the MINI dealer here to see if they were ready for my trade in? I know the car is a few weeks out but the less miles the more the trade in. trying to keep it under 10,000 miles right now it's setting at 8600 it's hard to keep from driving it if it's here

I just bought...

H&R RSS coilovers
Alta lower control arms
Alta 22mm sway bar
Alta sway bar end links.

They all go on Thursday... can't wait. I am going to lower it down to a
half inch above the tire all the way around. This should really change things up.

totally dude....

They are going on tomorrow. I went back to the alignment shop to go over the details...
*A little negative camber, maybe 1 degree
*fender to be half inch above tire
*make sure end links don't touch springs
*secure 22mm sway bar on softest setting
... what did it miss...sheesh... oh yeah... rear bushing are in the box... let's see um I need to keep all the take of parts... uhhhhh

Then on top of that I have to go take some continuing education classes tomorrow so I will drop it off at 8 and I won't be able to see it until after the alignment. I really wanted to check out the ride height first before it is aligned, but as it is I won't be able to get back to the shop until 5 and I didn't want the car to stay there overnight. so-o-o-o- hopefully everything will be perfect. I live close to Alta and they recommended this guy. hmmm my fingers are crossed. Pictures to follow when I have time on Friday or Saturday.

Ok... ta daaa

I big thunder storm came through so I wasn't able to take the car out of the shop for pictures because it was pouring out, but here is the teaser. In the first pictures the red parts (except brakes) are new, and you can see the new H&R RSS coilovers. Won't be able to drive it until tomorrow.
