Finally got my JCW

Well after a long wait. I placed my order Dec 27, I finally got my JCW.
It has just about everything except hifi and park distance. I immediately took it over to see Danny at Minicorsa. First mods, TSW springs, IE fixed camber plates, Koni FSD's, mini do more hitch, Huper optic tint. I am on R113's with the rft's and i'll tell you the ride is far better than I expected. It is just a hare stiffer than stock but does a much better job with road irregularities. Tramlining, although still there, is much better as is bump steer. Overall i am very impressed with the car. The power is excellent and the response to driver input is fantastic. I have the base suspension so I think I need to upgrade the sway bars to control the springs just a bit better. Also up is a sound system. I already have a roadstersound box waiting to go.

Thanks to all those on the board who gave me great advice. (Dustin, Danny D, Alta John to name a few. So far so good.

Go for some light wheels and real tires.

Looks like you got the car at Bob Smith Mini. I have a 09 JCW too. Thinking of getting the TSW springs put on at Mini Corsa. Any reviews on the TSW springs? My only concern is that I use my car as a daily driver. How do the springs compare to OEM on the streets of LA? Also do you find that the front lip scrape steep driveways?

Tsw Springs

One of my biggest concerns was ride quality. i have about 150 miles on the TSW's so far and the ride quality is great. Very comparable to stock. It is difficult to put the difference (stock) into words. But what I would say is they are only marginally stiffer and in combination with my FSD shocks the impacts are reduced. And again I am on 18" runflats. It is very surprising.

If anyone is near either Beverly Hills or Santa Monica I would be happy to give you a ride. If you don't mind the conservative Drop the combination is very comfortable. Oh and no scraping so far and my office driveway is STEEP....

Me too... I'm interested in an after-install review of this. I just got mine from Long Beach Mini last week and am thinking of getting the TSW springs and having minicorsa install it for me. wonder if I should do the swaybar upgrade first?

I'm 700 miles in now

So far the TSW's Fsd combination has been great. The ride is smooth. I have encountered all types of bad roads, speed bumps etc. As for Mini Corsa Danny is great. He set up my suspension, springs, shocks, camber plates and trailer hitch in like two hours. He also has much wisdom to share. I am going back next for a rear swaybar upgrade. The handling is difficult to quantify. The cornering is basically flat but there is just a hair or maybe less of body lean before the car sets up for a turn. Overall balance is excellent.

Again if anyone is near West LA give me a shout a demo speaks thousands of words.
