What do your JCW exhaust tips look like..PICTURES

Ok...I know there was a recall because someone or a couple of people burned their legs on the tips and they were modified, however I ran into a guy this weekend that just picked up his JCW after me...I had mine a month and he had really nice tips with the John Cooper Woorks logo's on them.

The guy said he has not received a recall notice to get his tips neutered. My tips are short and very recessed and look nothing like the (2) other JCW's I have seen on the road. My tips look like they were hacked off, rough edges. Hard to see in the pictures but if you look close and run your fingers over the edges it is rough.

I called the dealer and the parts guy said that he thinks the tips were never put on at the factory and will order them. I look at my tips and they are not covers, its part of the can, I wish I would have looked closer at the one I saw this weekend...My questions are...

1. On your JCW are the tips going over the tip (pipe) attached to the can?
2. Do you have the Logo on your tips?
3. Looking at my pictures what is diffrent from mine to yours?
4. Do yours stick out further?

This is what it looks like when you look straight down

In this picture it look like to tips are sticking out....but there not its just the angle..

Here is another view

Does your J

Are you sure that his car is the factory JCW and not the dealer installed kit? The dealer installed kit has an extension that fits over a much smaller diameter pipe. They stick out further and also have the stamped JCW logo which the factory JCWs do not. Yours looks exactly like my set-up and every other factory JCW that I've seen. There was a lot of complaining about this when the factory JCWs first started showing up at dealers in July, as the dealer JCW exhaust looks much nicer.

It's hard to see the extension from this angle, but it's the same as in your photo. I painted the muffler on mine though.

you have the right tips no logo .. the logo is on your boot and the bottom front grille.

the logo jcw tips are only on the tuning kit.

bigger does not mean better, now if you are looking for bigger there is aftermarket stuff.

ok...So let me understand this correctly....

The tips I have are the correct ones for the factory JCW and the ones with the LOGO are the dealer installed kit???

So my parts guy must be confused because he said there is a part number for the JCW tips. Probably wont fit...

That is correct. My earlier comment was regarding the version you saw on the other persons car, not yours. Those extensions will not fit on your factory JCW.

Pretty clear on this now...thanks. I really like the tips on the dealer installed kit...What I really dont like it the tip are recessed to much. I am searching for an alternative. I am a Borla dealer but really like the sound of the factory JCW exhaust..I would like to have the JCW or Titanium tips.

The Inside Diameter is much smaller...I see that now. My dealer said they ordered me the JCW tips...I don't think he has the stage 1 and factory exhaust mixed up.

Those are nice, that is the NEW JCW Logo. If anybody has the old JCW logo tips and wants to upgrade to new JCW logo, to match you JCW car. Let me know I will buy your tips.
