I just reached the 2000 mi break-in on my to the track! It was really just a Driving school, got to spend two days at the track that was way fun! I have the JCW coil overs, the kit comes with sway bars. Man I love the way it sounds when you open them up

I talked to them about that very car about a month ago and they came down $750 off sticker no problem.

Great, thanks ignote. Glad to know I didn't get taken. They basically took off the dealer add-ons (3m clear bra, cloth floor mats, alarm) which was about that price (going from memory), so it went back to sticker price off the boat, and threw in a set of rubber floor mats too. So far so good, 1200 miles and no issues except for Iphone charging issue discussed elsewhere on the thread.

I'm finally ready to run engine to a higher rpm, and I will be interested to see how that changes the way I drive it. So far, I've found that the high torque and best acceleration are well below the initially recommended 4,000 RPM. Not sure I'll regularly wander above that RPM.

Oh Umm. None of those add-ons were on the car at that time. They must have put them on after I saw it.

Very cool! I like the factory Aero kit. They look cool and a lot different than the everybody-has-it kit.

You would more than make up for the 10 lost hp by the weight reduction

Couple changes

So yesterday I added a M7 FMIC, NM engineering discharge pipe and painted most of the chrome pieces. Here are a couple pictures, more on my cardomain page... Page 4 is the new stuff...

Your MINI looks awesome! I think it looks good with the "blued out" headlight rings and grill surround. I've been thinking about doing the same thing to the headlights and grill surround on my red MINI. Also, how did you paint your key fob to match, that looks sweet!!

...also, how have you liked the M7 FMIC so far? I live in Texas and we get a lot of heat down here, so I've been considering getting a bigger than stock FMIC. Have you noticed any difference in performance or mileage?

Thanks for the kind words! The little chrome ring comes off the key fob so it's pretty easy to paint. I just sanded it down, primered, painted and cleared. 2 coats of each. If you do it remember to sand down the inside after you paint it. The paint builds up enough that if you dont you will break it putting it back on. I had to learn the hard way. My spare key does not have a ring around it right now...

I like the FMIC a lot. Vegas gets hot too as I am sure you are aware. Honestly it seems to accelerate a little smoother. I am sure that is partly due to the discharge pipe but the combo works well together. As others have said, when it is this hot a larger FMIC is just recapturing lost HP due to heat. I cant wait to see how it is when it cools down a bit.

One thing I will say, I took my friend for a ride the other day and we were on some back streets. I turned off the AC and held down the DTC button till everything was off. I managed to spin both tires through the intersecton from the stop sign. I was really suprised. Keep in mind that I have the OEM runflats but I was still impressed. I can also get it to chirp in third if my timing is good. Cooler air should really be fun!!!

I am not sure about mileage yet. I am still having fun with my reclaimed HP so I will have to get back to you on that.
