Those are some great shots. For the first time ever I've been wishing lately that I knew how to photograph stuff properly so I could capture my baby in some cool shots when she arrives.

I'm sure to have my camera w/me and some great lenses when I see you in Kings Park. I'm actually out on Eatons Neck. Great photos can be taken @ the beach there. These taken w/just a Casio point & shoot, not my Pentax D-SLR, so just showing-off "the spot" : http://public.fotki.com/m8o/kar_kraz...slammed_beach/ , http://public.fotki.com/m8o/kar_krazy/560sl/ (ignore the 1st 13 of the SL; they're from the eBay listing)

How did you option that? Did I miss something? How much does it cost?

Thanks
Bruce you can also find a body shop affiliated with the dealer and deal directly with the shop before you take delivery. It cost me the same or actually a little less when I had my arches and spoiler painted. It also insures your match as some colors are harder than others to match...either way the car looks great, but with the body shop you get a car that is finished and no hassel to you and the dealer should work with you, mine did and they even through in the touchup paint which you certainly will need...

Mark{ Mozza} only a few more days and the fun begins....Cheers

Well, actually I (for whatever reason) think that having the parts painted at the factory, along with the car, would be preferable. Would I balk at having it done later? No. But I would prefer it.

That being said, I like the look of the JCW aero kit (especially the part right in front of the rear wheelwell) the best, but it leaves the arches black. The "standard" aero kit has everything body color. What I would like is the JCW kit painted like the standard.

What is my best way to go. I went to that site Mozza linked, but am having a senior moment. Do I need to have the parts, (and is it then a grand plus to paint the JCW kit? Sounds pretty steep.) Or is that him painting and supplying the parts? This is where I need clarification.

Can anybody spell out what I would need to do (and how much total $$) to get a car with the JCW aero kit all painted body color?

Edit: I want just the lower body parts (under the doors) from the JCW. I want to keep my chrome around the grill, Ya, I'm funny that way. The whole JCW kit replaces it with black.

So you just want your arches colour coded and the side sills from the JCW kit also with the plastic colour coded? I'd contact Pete by phone and ask him, I know the arches will run you $400 but the side sills are a different story. You'd either have to look into purchasing them as an individual item from somewhere like outmotoring and then send them to Pete for painting or alternatively you could ask him to buy them himself. I have a feeling it would be cheaper to buy them yourself and ship to him. Don't worry about colour matching he uses all official factory paints.

Ah right, you probably should have quantified that to begin with. Bruce/FL to answer your total cost question it's costing me $3,300 to have everything painted and installed on the car.

You wont be able to get the arches from the factory as the JCW aero kit is a dealer installed option and won't have the arches painted. To order the factory Aero kit then replace it just to get the arches painted from the factory would be expensive.

Thats the one thing I like about the Canadian spec'd JCW is comes stock with the factory Aero kit and painted arches. So while I am getting the JCW aero kit installed my arches are already painted.

The JCW kit includes the black out grill but you could keep your factory one if you wanted it just wont match the lower grill.

Really? I was quoted $1250 just to have the kit painted by a local body shop here. It's working out way cheaper for me this way.

Bad news folks, having just spoken to my MA he confirmed what he said a couple of weeks ago that the 14th is the date our cars will be released from PORT and not the date that we will be getting our cars. Bummer.

Guess it is a good thing that my dealer is 20 minutes away from the VDC! I'll be sure to give you guys a review!

I don't think so, according to my MA no JCW will leave a VDC before July 14th. He got this info from his contact at the NY VDC who he called this morning. I'd say it's pretty reliable info.

How odd. So what's with the magical date? If no JCW can leave the VDC before the 14th, then what will they be showing at the dealerships, pictures and posters? Unless they'll be doing some major debut some where, where the rags get to drive them first at some track.

You'd think they would give preference to the customers who put down their hard earned money early on this car.

I don't think they'll be showing anything at dealerships I just think the 14th is the day they can start sending them to the dealers. Luckily Westchester MINI is within an hour of the VDC so I should be getting my car Monday evening anyway.

Just got the "birthdate" of my new 09 Clubman factory JCW!!

Delivery was not expected untill Sept, but I was told MINI is pushing up production because most dealers have sold everything they have coming in. It will be delivered by the end of July now.

Bought it the weekend before Memorial day. My dealer here in Charlotte only had 1 clubman and 4 jcw MINI's alloted to them. They have now sold them all. Feel luck to have gotten in when I did. Went in looking at a Clubman, came out with a factory JCW. Sweet....

Now when's that SUV go on sale?

Congrats although I wonder how you can "push up" production of a plant that is running around the clock to meet demand.
