So can we or can we NOT order these things yet? I thought we couldn't order until it's up on the configurator.

I put down $1000 on a "pre-order" at Tate MINI a couple of weeks ago. I am number 2 in line at that dealer. They anticipate that the configuration can occur sometime in May.

Problem is: $28k base, another $10k just to outfit it with the creature comforts and performance stuff. That doesn't even address the exterior aesthetis options. Now you're at the price of a 300+hp 135. ( But then that needs another $10k to make it liveable.)

Totally disagree. base 135i plus sport package is all you need in that car. Every time I spec one out, it is about 37k.

Call them, they should have been allocated their first production slots this week and if you're #2 at your dealer that means you should be able to order right now. I'm #1 at my dealer and am ordering tomorrow.

no mechanical limited slip differential on the CooperWorks car --if this turns out to be accurate (and i think it is), i've lost all interest in this car.

Have you driven in a car with E-LSD? I think I've read somewhere that the LSD is 20% lockup while the E-LSD is 50%? I've read around and most posts I've read said the E-LSD is crap. Not so much in this car but other cars that have this technology. I can't say either way as I've never driven this car with an LSD. I'm pretty sure you can turn this off though just like DSC.

It would be quite stupid if they offered this E-LSD as part of the base but then you could turn around and get the optional LSD. What a waste of money.

So. if you have a JCW stage 1 or 2 added to car by the dealer, do you get the removed parts back? after all you do already own them right? Does any one know a dealer that has any information about the JCW model? I can not get a dealer to tell me anything about this car. Since it is supposed to be on the Mini USA web site soon, you should be able to add options and configure it how you want it, so I am guessing that the JCW is a long term run model and its not going to be a limited edition. Am I right?

Okay, I'm stupid enough to want one, so I'll just wait until I can configure it just the way I want it.

Most dealers are getting their allocations, spoke to Shep Nelson at Alexander in LA...he can take orders with prices now...never could get the configurator right to begin with and the dealers should be able to get it right...good luck with the search...The car should be just stupid fun.I know my Stage 1 is great,so the new one is just next the step...motor on...

Can I ask what dealer you ordered from? Also, did you add all the JCW items that you listed or are they the "JCW" part of the JCW model? If they are add ons, I'm guessing you are looking at a $40 K car. WOW Sounds just like what I want, but I now fear it will be beyond my price range.

I ordered from Steve at Westchester Mini. An absolute pleasure to deal with from start to finish. All the JCW accessories listed are add ons and yep the car is coming in just under 40K and that's installing everything myself! People will say a 40K Mini is lunacy but I don't really care as it's exactly what I want.

You are right. They called on Friday for me to come in to configure the car. Unfortunately, I can't get out to the dealer (35 miles) until next Saturday.

That's only $1000 of add-ons.

When I do an apples to apples comparison of what I want on a car, the JCW comes in at $34k and the 135 at $43k.
