MINI JCW Hardtop finally ordered!

The long agonising wait is over and now another long agonising wait begins, anyway here's my spec...

09 JCW Hardtop

Astro Black/Astro Black
White Turn Signals

Packages:

Premium

Performance:

Xenon's
Rear Fogs

Cockpit:

Navigation System
M/F Wheel
Bluetooth Prep With USB
(No leather because I'm going with a custom leather/alcantara interior with new JCW logos sewn into the seats)

JCW Accessories:

JCW Aero Kit with painted wheel arches and plastic trim.
JCW Suspension & Springs
JCW Drilled Front Brake Rotors
JCW Strut Brace
JCW Carbon Fiber Rear Diffuser
JCW Carbon Fiber Bonnet Scoop
JCW Carbon Fiber Mirror Caps
JCW Carbon Fiber Rear Boot Handle
JCW Carbon Fiber Dash
JCW Carbon Fiber Steering Wheel Insert(Bottom)
JCW Steering Wheel (Leather/Alcantara)
JCW Shift **** (Carbon Fiber/Leather)
JCW Shift Boot (Alcantara)
JCW E-Brake Handle (Carbon Fiber/Leather)
JCW E-Brake Boot (Alcantara)

That's it from the dealer but I'll also be adding lots of aftermarket stuff from M7 and a set of O.Z. 18"s with non run flat rubber. As far as I know I'll be getting one of the very first batch to come into the country the beginning of July. Now the second phase of waiting begins .

I read somewhere that the black paint was going to be another shade other than the Astro...I would check this out, if I were you...if you haven't already.

There is a new black coming eventually but after asking everybody no one was able to give me any concrete information so because I'm comfortable with the astro black and frankly sick of waiting I decided to go ahead and pull the trigger. My build week is 24 by the way

i've been trying to get info on this. i've seen pics of a JCW justacooper and a JCW S AND a JCW clubman (not interested in the clubbie). but, when i googled around all i could find any articles on was the S and the clubman.

is there a JCW justacooper? and is that what you ordered? i was hoping it was real.

either way congrats! i'm a little jealous.

Nope there's no JCW Cooper. Technically there's no JCW 'S' either. There are two new and distinct models known as the Mini JCW Hardtop(essentially a JCW S) and a JCW Clubman. I order the Hardtop(S or Coupe). Thanks by the way.

I'm confused. I thought that the JCW MINI came with a new set of brakes which featured larger discs all around. With that being true, how would the JCW drilled front brake rotors comply with the new braking system? Or, does the new Brembo brakes use the same discs as the MCS just with a new fixed caliper system?

It actually comes in at just under 40K. Steve at Westchester Mini agreed to price match(20% off) all accessories with Morristown which saved me quite a bit of money.

As far as I'm aware either the same discs are used or they will be releasing drilled rotors specifically for the new Brembo JCW brakes. I'm assuming the former.

I also have a order in but have not yet spec'd it out. I only have a list from the dealer of pkgs. etc. Can you get the new JCW wheels and if so, how much are they. I didn't see them anywhere but on the miniusa site which is useless. I was disappointed that the recaros are not offered on this car.

Get in front of the dealer ASAP,the mini site is basically worthless like you said and your order means zip until you get a production number and get in line....Try to deal with the sales manager since they probably know more about the new JCW than your MA...take care

So, for $40k you could spec out a very sweet 135i. What am I not getting here? (And I am a current JCW owner and 5+ year MINI owner, so I get MINIs.) If you need four seats and performance/handling, the 135i seems like a slam dunk. Please, enlighten me.

It's not a Mini Cooper and you spend the money on the things that make you happy and you want.My little car was bought on a goof when I bought my wifes BMW and I have never had so much fun with any of my cars and for sure have never regretted spending over 40K for it.If you want a 135 then buy it,we all have choices in life,I doubt if it will ever be as fun and special as this new JCW is going to be,and will it make you smile like the Mini

Do all of the carbon-fiber bits (dash, scoop, mirror backs, diffuser and hatch handle) come with the JCW kit? I know that when I ordered all of those parts with my non-JCW car (except for the diffuser, since I have a convertible), I got positively raped on the dealer installation charges. As an example, just the three-piece CF dash was $600 more to make it part of the order and have the dealer install it than it would have been if I had just bought it from Morristown and installed it myself.

Fortunately, when it came time for me to buy the rest of my JCW carbon parts, I had learned my lesson and bought the CF shifter trim ring, cupholder rings and downtubes from Morristown and did the installation myself.

Sweet car, BTW - I know you're going to love it.
