Climate Control **** problem

Hello Mini Fans -

My climate control **** only selects even numbers, I can't select an odd number. For example, when I turn the **** slowly, it goes from 70 to 72 to 74 to 76...etc. It won't go to 71, 73, or 75. Does anybody else have this problem?

What year is your car ? My 2017 MCS only shows even number temps also. Has been that way since new. I figured that was normal. I have noted that newer loaner cars I've had did show the whole range of numbers, even and odd.

Yeah that's normal. My 2016 does the same thing. I think they changed it for 2018.

Interesting. This is for a 2019 MCSC (Mini Cooper S convertible). And I just realized that I am in the wrong forum (since it's a convertible). Maybe convertibles are setup this way.

You could convert it to Celsius, my 2019 does odds and evens..... In the menu's you could try changing it, to another temperature value, and see how it does, and change it back, to see if the changes behaviour.

There is a possibility that its calculating it by Celsius, in the background. Hence the "even" only numbers..... Depending the sources, 1 C = 1.8 F

Hi All,

’21 F56 HT here and I can confirm that the temperature can be adjusted in both Fahrenheit and Celsius one degree at a time.

Also set it to “auto” climate and it can still be adjusted one degree at a time.

Maybe it’s a convertible climate setting? I’ve never had the opportunity to drive one

Motor On,

Rich

Rich,

What is that shelf below the climate control, is that a wireless charger for your phone?

Our 2019 Clubman also allows for single digit changes.

Hi ironhead3fan,

Yeah, it’s a wireless charger from SCP Automotive in the UK.

Here’s the link to the post I wrote about it:

It’s the best wireless charger I’ve used hands down

Check it out,

Rich

@RichsMINI I thought that was what it was. Unfortunately, those have been sold out for a few months now. I'm on the waiting list, but no word as of yet. I don't think they are available anywhere else. My phone is too large for the charger in the armrest. Guess I'll just have to be patient.

@ironhead3fan

Hopefully they manufacture more soon! MINI should have done this style of wireless charger all along.
I believe they are the only company to make this style wireless charger, because I've never seen anything close to it on the market.

Regarding your phone being too large for the wireless charger in the armrest, is it too long or too wide?

If it's too long checkout Nick's (The MINI Vlog) YouTube video for a simple modification to fit a larger phone inside of it.

Here's the link:

Hopefully this will help you out,

Rich

Agreed, I think that is what Mini should have used for the wireless charging. Thanks for the link, I'll check that out. Unfortunately, my iPhone is too wide, not sure about the length.

The wife's 17 CM only does even numbers, but my 19' JCW does all in 1 degree increments. Think they started doing that after 2018.

I just got my car 2 months ago and I have the same wireless charging shelf. Sadly mine is missing the power receptacle (cig lighter). I am waiting for them to send me a replacement part but I must have gotten my order in during a period when they had some cause I have noticed they are sold out alot.
