Looking to check out exhaust setups

I am considering buying either a JCW Pro exhaust or an aftermarket one like AWE or Remus for my JCW. If anyone is in the Philly to DC area that has one and would be willing to meet so I can go for a ride with you to see how it sounds and if there's any drone at highway speeds.

If it's any help I had the AWE touring on my 2016 F56S. ZERO drone. I have the Pro on my 19 JCW , no droning either. I honestly prefer the AWE..

Did you check out the youtube videos of the JCW pro? Most MINI dealerships have at least one MINI with that system JCW pro installed. I would swing by and check it out if you like to in person.

I love my Remus. Had it installed prior to MTTS 2018 and drove cross country 8,800 miles with zero drone. I keep it wide open all or the time ... the sound is great and no drone at all. Very nice system ... highly recommended.

Neither MINI dealer had one. I am over an hour away from a MINI dealer. The dealer I bought my JCW from doesn't have any JCWs in stock.

I think MINI has dropped the price big time on the JCW exhaust.

They have, That's the only reason I'm considering it.

Also, no luck at PVGP.

I’m pretty happy with the JCW Pro exhaust. It sounds very good!

I've installed all of these different F56 exhaust and can tell you that we like the Remus the best as it fits perfect, is much lighter than the JCW, and sounds perfect with the flap.

Yep, i did not see anyone with one (checked on the hill also for MINIs), and the dealership did not bring out any cars from what I saw. Nice seeing you there.

Question about the exhaust options for our cars. Are you giving anything up (hp/tq) from going with a JCW vs aftermarket? Is the JCW the same diameter as the aftermarket setups? I was leaning heavily toward the NM system, but the sale price on the JCW right now is hard to pass up.

I do like the Remus but it's double the price.

It's worth it as you get what you pay for.

I like my Remus but I don't know if I like it 2x as much as the JCW setup. Quite a few in the local club have the JCW while I'm the only one with the Remus that I've seen. Both are excellent and if one exhaust is nearly half the cost of the other I say go for the cheaper one.

NM Engineering...a bit expensive but lighter...bigger...more power...great sound. I actually got tired of having to hit the Bluetooth Button. Sounds great in Green and Mid Mode and Gurgles and Pops BETTER in Sport Mode than the JCW Pro

I love NM one, it looks so good! Though with the drop in the JCW exhaust cost, it think it's more worth it. I've had it on two F56 now, and really enjoy it.

The whole exhaust setup is a Remus Sport muffler, secondary cat and resonator delete, and Milltek catless downpipe.
The Remus Sport was too quiet on its own and I actually wanted to sell it after install. Eventually I decided to keep it and try other ways of getting a sound I was happy with.
So I cut out the midpipe resonator. It was slightly louder and pops were a little sharper but it still wasn't what I was looking for in terms of sound.
Next to go was the secondary cat. Pops became a little more prevalent but the sound I wanted still wasn't there.
Finally the stock downpipe came out and Milltek's catless went in. This made the biggest change in sound out of everything. Pops are everywhere and gunshots are the norm. Plus, there's fire which is kinda neat. I'm pretty happy with this but still want more.

Would that even make a difference? With the Remus open the exhaust is straight piped.

I have had the JCW pro, the Remus and the AWE track and touring. AWE touring with the diamond black tips is what I have on my car now and is by far my favorite.

That's what we have on the shop MCS. It's nice, but I do prefer the JCW Pro over it. The AWE sounds a little muddled to my ear if that makes sense.
Really either is great, just a matter of preference.

Yes
A straight pipe muffler does attenuate sound.
