Working in an electronics store, wierd ideas just seem to flow from everyone. I got word today that my MINI is officially built and waiting for its bunk on the ship, so its time to plan important stuff - like the stereo. I was planning on going with an Alpine CDA-9831 head unit, Infinity REF7540A amp and Kappa perfect 6.1 compnents, but then my inspiration hit.

How about running a mobile video monitor hooked up to an Xbox in the trunk. The Xbox itself could be modded with a larger hard drive fairly easily which would have room for every mp3 I own (I already transferred all of my CDs to mp3 so I could store the CDs), plus we'd have a DVD player for trips, and, of course, the games for heavy traffic times. Any ideas?

Also, does anyone have an off-the-wall setup for their Cooper?

Lots of things have been done already.

Many of the SEMA MINIs are quite outrageous.
MINI front door or alien space craft?

Speakers or jet engine?

Double front door speakers

No room left in the boot

We have also seen-

I'd love to have the rear headrest monitors for my two year old on long trips.

I've heard on another thread that they are a factory option in Europe. I wonder what the part number is?

Hmm..Maybe I should hve been more specific. I was wondering if anyone had an off-the-wall setup in a drivable MINI - show cars don't count. The last pics with the PS2 under the glovebox is what I was looking for. Pretty cool.

On the subject of showcars, anyone seen pics of the new Alpine MINI?

Showcars are drivable, well sorta... maybe just to the event. Why don't you PM Maxmini, I think he has quite a nice setup.

If showcars don't count then we'd need to start a new thread about audio in showcars.
Thee Alpine MINI (looks like it belongs in MenInBlack 3)

Hey what happened to the seats?

Actually if you look closely, that's a RHD MINI, with NO glovebox. That's airbag and then parcel shelf. It looks like an early UK spec, I believe the first UK MINIs were shipping with the parcel shelf and no glovebox.
