Hello all, can someone give me some details on this special edition?
Dealer said that these were a very limited run and it is the closest thing to a 4 door JCW.

Thoughts on this particular model?

IIRC it was a 2017 model with the JCW tuning kit as well as the carbon fiber pieces and the JCW exterior/interior packs.

I wanted to buy/lease it, but wife wanted a blue MINI. Her car, her choice.

 

Unless you really love the look and carbon fiber pieces, I'd think it's probably better value to custom build your own F55 then add JCW tuning kit.

 

Any find a vinyl shop to wrap your trim pieces in carbon fiber and save a lot more money.

My Mini came with the CF parts and it looks fake

 

It's basically a black F55 with a lot of accessories added to it (carbon fiber mirror caps, CF hood scoop, JCW Pro spoiler extensions, JCW Tuning Kit with ECU remap and bi-modal exhaust). The only thing Carbon Edition specific is the stripes, but any good vinyl shop should be able to recreate something similar.

They are very limited production - 500? in MY2017 and another 500 for MY2018.

As been suggested, unless you love all the carbon fiber bits, you can add the tuning kit to any F55 Cooper S.

Found at a Chevy dealership cheap. They didn't know what they had.

As for production numbers, I've heard from multiple sources that 150 were produced in 2016. I've also heard from my contact at MINI that there will be a 2018 version at some point.

 

Those steering wheels are incredible

 

LOL, that steering wheel isn't OEM, that is a little something special I added to my car. More Carbon for the Carbon Edition.

 

I dint think so but who knows anymore!
