F55/F56 Essential F55 Mods
Essential F55 Mods
Hi Everyone. I purchased a 2017 f55 mods and was curious what people think are the best mods for the f55/56. I have been looking around and see there is a plethora. So far I have an intake installed and am loving it. I think my next step is to black out the chrome but curious about other modifications.
I've seen some amazing minis on the forum so I look forward to responses.

For me it was the stereo, new speakers and amp.
Next was a Dinan Sport module, which I then upgraded to a Dinan Elite. Either of those or a full on ECU tune.
Vinyl wrapped my roof.
I would try a sway bar but can't find a decent installer so I'll wait.

saw the roof pictures. Pretty awesome! Did you have the "upgrade" to hk speakers? I got them since my brother was raving and they blow my old corolla speakers out of the water.
I am def looking into suspension/ handling mods. There seems to be a lot out there and not sure what actually impacts. I will be checking your site out again.
BavSound speakers, JL Audio amp! I have HK, but I don't like any part of the system. It's ok a moderate volume, but once you crank it up, blah.
Black out is easy and does always look great.
After that a simple tuning module will add great power and bang for the buck

the lower engine mount is really nice to reduce rock and get power to the ground without breaking the bank

Chassis braces are also nice to reduce body flex

and of course a rear sway bar is the biggest handling bang for buck

Did you have the cut the weather-stripping for the strut tower brace? A lot of the 3 piece ones you cut holes into the stripping. The one you have looks like it goes over the top.
Were the bushings an easy install? Not sure if it matters in an auto.

Is the sway bar an easy install? I was reading the NM instructions and it seems complicated.
The NM bar comes with a hollow punch to cut holes in the gasket. Makes for a very clean install.
The bushing is easy, less than a hour. I posted a How-to in the FAQ section
I like your build though. Love that red/black JCW colors.

The majority of my suspension upgrades are NM and I have been happy with them. So, when I decided to go with a strut bar it was an easy decision for me.

I'd love to install an after market amp. I can't find out what wires are what to save my life though. Would love to put my old subs in.
