Anyone have this happen?

Has anyone else had the sealant come pouring out of the bonnet on their MINI? I have cleaned this up twice already over the first three weeks of ownership and it still keeps on pouring out. I live in New Orleans and I know its hot this summer, but this is ridiculous. Included a few pics below.

I had a little tiny bit, but not NEARLY that much! That's excessive.

You may want to clean some areas out inside the crevices under the hood with compressed air. See if you can blow out some of the excess goop.

Or rather, take it back to Mini and have them clean it up!

2015 MCS living in the SW Florida sauna. Nothing like this ever appeared on our car. I cannot imagine where it's originating from or what the stuff is. It looks like un-rinsed car was soap seeping out.

I assume since you refer to it as sealant, it's of a sticky consistency?

Definitely back to Mini for complete diagnosis and cleanup if it were me. Wiping it off one time would be my limit considering the price we pay for these little cars.

Been seeing it a lot on my F56 here in Colorado - we've been in the high 90s, low 100s for the past couple of weeks. I emailed the MINI genius at our local dealership (old MA doesn't work there anymore) - he suggested rinsing it off - and then using a citrus based cleaner to clean any of the residue off. If it by chance did stain any of the plastic they would replace it under warranty - so for now I just keep a close eye on it. Experienced it slightly in our old R55, but not nearly to the extent that I've seen in the F56.

Thanks. Don't really know what it is, but it has a silicone or petroleum jelly consistency. I have not seen any dulling of the paint where it is weeping out, so I don't think that it will actually damage anything. Also I have not seen any other places on the car where this is happening. I guess one associate got a bit heavy handed during the manufacturing process. I am not really concerned as I can wipe it off, just more of an aggravation really and wanted to make sure I was not the only one experiencing this.

It's cosmoline - it's a rust preventor that MINI installs prior to shipping - the dealer should do they're best to remove it all ... but seeing as it gets packed/seeps between panels the hot weather tends to make what they missed ... come back out.
I'd do my best to keep it off the grey plastics - I had a little bit near where the fender and hood meet.

Had the same problem on my F57. Cleaned it off at dealer..came back again by the time i got home. So far, after the second cleaning, it has not come back. Mine looked just like yours.

Living here in TX, this has happened with all four of our Minis. On my wife's '13, the seepage was so bad they replaced the plastic fenders up front. Both of our '16s are seeing the same greasy drips. Not even close to as bad as the pics up top by the OP, but it's still frustrating.

Take it back to the dealer and have them clean it up, replacing parts as needed. My plan is to wipe away through the summer and then when it's cooled off, take both cars back to the dealer to have them clean it up and replace parts if necessary.
