2016 mini cooper s negotiate

Hello,
I am about to purchase my first MINI cooper s F56
I custom build it online with the MSRP came out to be $30,450 with fully loaded package and a rear spoiler.
A dealer offered me $1700 off MSRP and eligible for any incentives that they have when the car arrives the lot
I was told out the door at $31,689.17
They then offered me out the door at $31,500 exact
So it comes out to be roughly $1800 off in total savings
Need some opinions on whether I should go for a more aggressive discount or take it as it is a good deal already.
Thanks

You did a hell of a lot better than I did (I got $700 off MSRP) then a $1K MINI incentive and $250 USAA which are all give-me's). If I got the $1800 off deal + incentives and the USAA I'd take it and never look back

Seems like a good deal to me, if you are happy with it, pull the trigger.

I just got $1900 off MSRP on my ordered MCS

Being this early in the model year it sounds like a great deal to me.

Great deal - I only got the MINI gimme's, and the USAA discount. I attempted for more but it didn't get very far. Sounds like a great deal to me.

If it's got all you want, go for it! That's a good deal.

It's pretty rare a dealer gives any kind of discount on an ordered car upfront. I say go for it!

How much of that is for the car itself and how much for tax and reg. fees?

The car is at $30450 MSRP and tax and reg. fees is about 2.7-2.8k in my area
I would say an estimate of $2300 off MSRP to be out the door at $31000 exact

I would do it......I drove 640 miles to a dealership to get $3,100 off my new 2015 last month. Dealer here wouldn't give $1,600 off the same model, let alone a 2016.

Its you get anything off and free floormats take it. In the old days ~2004 you were lucky to get MSRP and not some markup.

Yes. Always ask last minute for the rubber floor mats to be thrown in. No dealer has ever said no. $2,300 is a great deal for a 2016. I got about $4k off a 2015 back in August but I had to be a major hard-*** with the dealer. Also had to take a road trip to pick up the car in Boston from New York.

Sounds like a fair deal to me! Just remember, they will hit you up for the extended warranty & other warranty packages & at least something is probably wise to pay for, so you need to add that into your payment. That was unexpected when I bought my new JCW. Significantly raised my monthly payment.....just sayin! Check it out before signing on the dotted line!

Good luck,

John

I'll likely be buying a clubman next year for my wife and was wondering about pricing. I've never paid more than invoice for a car, usually less. Is it typical to not get invoice pricing on Mini's? I can understand special editions or high demand cars being difficult.

If that's the case I'll likely end up with an X1 or similar for about the same money.

Yea you may be getting an X1

Pretty rare for dealers to give that large of discounts on MINIs, much less new models like the Clubman.

That is a little surprising since Mini's volume has been down a good deal this year. I'll have to seen next summer or fall, there are a few dealers nearby so hopefully one will work for me.

If not a BMW or Lexus will assuage my wife I'm sure.

Don't be shy about looking at dealers out of area. Many will deal.....you just might have to take a "road trip".

I'd have them e-mail the final paperwork for your review before showing up to avoid any last minute slight of hand.
