I've been eyeing it but read (in a previous thread) that it can only be installed on cars with a black roof (something about the decal pattern is gray check only with red side bars- so the black roof color supplies the black for the checkerboard pattern).

MINI USA listed it as a black & gray checkered with Chili red trim making installation on any color roof possible.

With the MINI USA website configuator being notoriously inaccurate, thought I'd appeal to the readership for verification.

 

I have the checkerboard roof on my SUNROOF only from MINI. IF, the premise is the same, the "black" checkerd part is actually the sunroof itself. The "white" checkerd is the only part that's a decal. So what you purchase are white checker squares that make a checkerboard using the actual dark part of your roof for the black checkers. This is how it is on my car. Call the dealer for further clairification.

 

I have the JCW roof graphic on my F56. Yes, the graphic is a multiple parts setup, (2) red side bars, (30) gray squares. I had originally tried to order it with the white roof / white caps, only to find out that it could not be done.

They had a few problems at the port getting it installed they had several problems (my dealership is great, they noticed it, told me and had the replacements being shipped before I saw it).

I love the look on my moonwalk gray F56. So far I have added the JCW Mirror Caps as well.

So you did get it installed on your whited topped car? Ours is white top (no moon roof) with white mirrors (just ordered the JCW scuttles and mirror caps).

That's what is throwing me. MINI says, full roof decal meaning entire roof will be covered with Black/Gray and Red w/o any body color used in the graphic.

Some of the other roof choices give notification when selected in the configuator that white roof must be deleted and black roof added and vise versa.

In order to add the “Checkered Flag on Black Roof Decal”, we must remove the part below from your MINI.

Not so with the JCW decal.

Seems where a sun/moon roof is on the car, configuator limits selections of checkerboard patterns also.

 

The only part numbers I can find specify black roof.

No, it had to be ordered as a black roof.

The graphic does cover the whole roof, but it is 32 separate pieces.

It does looks excellent

Once again MINI USA configurator was incorrect.

Full Chili Red decal from a local "Window Tint Guy" should will be my fall back play and will be cheaper in the long run.

Yes, for black roof means its the offset color as in the gray and red parts are the ones you get in a decal, they done this before. 51142354990
