Exterior Color Variation

Just washed the new 2016 silver white MINI. I noticed that there was a huge color variation between the body and the bumpers. The car is slightly darker but enough that I would have sent it back if a body shop did not match the color better! My previous 2014 MCS F56 was Thunder Grey Metallic and there was no variation on that car.
Anyone else notice this? I can imagine that it is possible as the bumpers and running board trim would be painted then added to the already painted body.

just at the dealer. I can not believe that most cars have some variation. Some are actually worse than mine. I can not believe that in this day and age they can't get the paint to match. There was a BMW in the lot and it's paint matched it's bumper. Honestly it is like badly fitted seat covers in the MINI. I find it really unacceptable.

I think I would still bring it to the dealers attention. You didn't order a two toned paint job.

Was there port damage and then repainted ? Or maybe bumped and repainted ? Never seen one that off. Also look against the light at an angle it might just be the contours.

No. They are all off. Mine is worse than most. It's the same front and back. What it's the dealer going to do have the bikers resprayed....Not sure I would want that. In certain light it looks worse....

Unfortunately it is not unusual, especially with lighter colors, for the plastic parts to not match the sheet-metal. Even seen it on Lexus. Maybe it has to do with the additive they put it to make it flex?

Honestly, I cannot tell that there is any difference in the color between body and bumper from the photo you posted? Any minor difference I see in the photo looks to be because of the angle of the sun on the metallic paint.

Maybe you have ultra sensitive eyes, as I haven't noticed it on any F56s and I tend to be extremely critical and detail oriented.

I know it is noticeable on the photo but more in reality. Look carefully next time you are at the dealer - I was quite shocked!
