So, it seems my MINI has made it to Spain before me... my ship left Southampton and headed to Barcelona... tis bound for Galveston next... hurry up and wait! :-D
I did get a tidbit from one of the folks at MINI when I called about the status of my car. I asked why it seemed that the Owners' Lounge area was always behind their status... "I think it only updates over the weekend..." Seems to follow what I've seen so far...
Yes, yes it is... I shot a vintage racing event out there and was allowed to use my MINI as a shuttle for myself to get to various shooting points on the track; I really really really wanted to hop on the track to get a hot lap or 30 in...
Thanks! I must say, seeing yours helped me decide on the blue, even though it's not exactly the same...deep blue was what I was after. Excited to see it in person!

I hear you! I wish they offered Deep Blue in the factory JCW too!!!
With the Athens Highway (bottom right) just a few hours out of Galveston now, I'll confess to geeking out over getting to track it real time via FleetMon.com - it is interesting to see the passel of vessels parked (moored?) waiting to either load or unload mostly oil (the red dots) or cargo (green dots)... leaving an open channel through which I hope my MINI will head to the dock without delay...
Picked up my F56 S 2Dr on Friday - in a word - AWESOME!
Definately worth the wait!
BRG2 w/ black roof/stripes, 6speed, leather and lots of options - trying to not be too aggressive till I get a few hundred or maybe a thousand miles on the motor - any "best practice" for this w/ the new 2.0 turbo motor?
Thanks in advance on break-in advice, and for those still waiting - hope they arrive soon and enjoy!
I could never wait to 1200 miles with any of the new cars I have bought. 120000 miles was the most I have put on any of them, and none of them had any engine related problems. But I always made sure the engine was warmed up before I revved it hard.
I too ordered a BRG F56 S. I opted for the black wheels though and plan to black out all the chrome. My car was born on 4/29 and is currently waiting for a ship to take it across the pond, 5/9 likely depart date from Southhampton. Since my car is going through Galveston as well, how long did it take in processing at the VDC before transport to your dealer? I am hopeful that it only takes a few days and I can get my car by early June.

Thanks for the info - I figure I'll avoid really high revs for 500 miles or so, mix up the revs so I don't cruise for an hour or so at the same RPM, etc... tho tis pretty hard to resist just winding it out and havin' a blast from mile zero... or mile 6 in my case.

Great choices! I considered the black wheels, but (call me old school) I personally like the look of the silver wheels... not to say I'm not a fan of the stealthed out look... my head has turned several times at a blacked out chrome MINI on numerous occasions.
My ship arrived in Galveston on Saturday around 2:00 PM and my car was at my dealer in Austin on that Thursday afternoon... I think it cleared the VDC by Tuesday, if memory serves... When I called on Tuesday, all I heard was tentative delivery to me on Friday... and that's when I collected it from MINI of Austin.
Good luck with dealing with the wait; but trust me - it's well worth it!
Looks like your car is almost ready for delivery. I had silver wheels on my Sparkling Silver MSC (basically beige), and black wheels on this one. I am also not a fan of the "blackout" look, I like chrome just fine. Good luck on your pickup1
Ordered my Melting Silver/Black Justa Clubbie on 4/15. Got a production number but still no build date. Premium, Tech, Winter. Will replace our 2008 Clubbie S.

If you call into MINI customer support (866.175.6464), choose the "vehicle production status" (option 2), then say your production number and then hit 1 (or say "production" number). The automated info will be generic status, but hit 0 to talk to an operator... (I think that only works during reg business hours). A very friendly human will answer and they can get you the slot (production week) that your vehicle is set for... Mine was "week 12". On the Monday of that week it changed to "in production" and on the Friday of that week it was "production complete". Mind you, this was all gleaned from the MINI customer support number, not from the owners lounge...

Reason: forgot to add cust svc number...
I ordered a JCW about a month and a half ago and still have not gotten a production number. Every time I call and ask for an update they say the JCWs have been pushed further back. I am getting worried it will turn into a 2017 and lose the ability to have the full extended maintenance 6 year or 100k at $1800 that includes one clutch change. If that's the case might have to get a different car...
