Anyone Order a 2016 F56? (Order Tracking Thread)

Anyone else order a 2016 F56? I originally was trying to get one of the last 2015 slots, but missed out so was one of the first to order a 2016 earlier this month.

Details:
2016 MINI Cooper S
Deep Blue Metallic
Fully Loaded Package
LED Headlights with Cornering
17" Tentacle Spoke Silver Wheels
JCW Interior Package
Alarm
Rear Spoiler
Chrome Line Interior
Rear Fog Lights (not holding my breath that car arrives with these on them)
MINI Heads-Up Display
John Cooper Works Tuning Kit/Exhaust
Estimated Completion - July 1st

My car is in production currently with a scheduled completion date of July 1st. It appears most MINIs headed for the Brunswick VDC appear to be crossing the Atlantic on K-Line Ships these days and according to their schedules (http://www.kline.com/KAMCarCarrier/S...g_Schedule.pdf), it looks like there is a ship estimated to leave on July 4th. Here's hoping that they can get my MINI to the docks in time for that ship to bring him over!

2016 Justa ordered 6/9

I placed my order on 6/9 but my MA said he doesn't have a production number yet because the parts for the DDC (now standard with the Sport Package) are constrained. (I too tried to ****** one of the last 2015 build slots but was a bit too late. I too ordered rear fog lights.)

Anxiously,
Alan

Interesting - my Fully Loaded package includes the DDC as well and didn't stop car from going into production. That stinks. One thought though - I kinda wished I opted out of the DDC now because I was originally going to do the JCW Suspension, but just found out it is not compatible with cars with DDC. Not sure if you were planning on doing suspension mods, but if you are, having a car without DDC may be easier to work with (just a thought - you could break up the items in the Sport Package, omit DDC and get car moving quicker!).

I have a feeling the reason you didn't get a production number is because your dealership did not have a production number. DDC shortage sounds fishy. The only constraint that I have heard is that early 2016 production vehicles will all need to have the sunroof option.

Have you been given an estimated release/arrival date from your MA? Curious if the 2016's will be held at the VDC for a few months like the 2015's were last year... Probably too soon to tell, but if you hear any estimates, make sure to post them. I will do the same.

I think that information will be available once the vehicle arrives at the VDC. Probably too soon to tell, but heck, I really don't know.

Even though I put in my order in March, mine will be a 2016 JCW. I missed out on getting one of the very few 2015 manual transmission JCW's somehow. Have a production number and just waiting now.

Interesting... The order tracking option at 1-866-ASK-MINI is "down for maintenance". Wonder if they are updating for the 2016 changeover

Something going around about a long delay because of EPA gas mileage figures or something. The cars might not show up until October

just kidding! you'll probably have it before the end of July!

The MINI factory is currently closed for yearly maintenance and the changeover to 2016 models, I was in the UK last week and tried to get a tour of the factory but that was what they told me, they said it was opening up again the 1st of July for production.

According to 1-866-ASK-MINI, my 2016 MCS was supposed to be done July 2nd. Based on previous experience with ordering MINIs, the status usually changes the following day to "your vehicle is complete". Sitting here on the 4th and status is still showing vehicle in final assembly/QC inspection. Just checked another 2016 production number that went into production the day before mine did and looks like it is doing the same thing. Wondering if the first wave of 2016's are going through some extra careful look overs lol. Next ship leaves on July 10th so hopefully they let them loose soon to catch the cruise across the pond

Either that or the status updates aren't getting updated. Should only be in paint shop for a day and then you have 1-2 days of assembly and inspection. Mine has been on the final day of assembly/inspection now since Thursday lol.

Just checked a couple production numbers that were scheduled to be done on July 3rd and both are listed still in the paint shop as well today. I am guessing the status update system is just not being updated for some reason.

Just spoke to a customer service representative at 1-866-ASK-MINI and they said my car was completed and released to carrier yesterday (so about a 4 day delay over original estimate - probably due to the 2016 change-over). Once it arrives at the port, they should be able to provide me with the vessel information for the ship it will be loaded on.

If I enter my VIN into the BMW VIN Decoder it now shows a production date of 2015-07-03. Previously it showed 0001-01-01.

I was in the UK last week too and got my MINI Oxford tour cancelled a whopping 15 hours before the scheduled tour.

The excuse I got was "Production problems", which sounds more serious than routine maintenance.

You can get detailed tracking info from your Motoring Advisor or by calling 1-866-ASK-MINI and hitting option 2 for production status. You can also speak to a representative at the same number that can pull up your vehicle status. They can even tell you which ship the car will be loaded on. Once you have the ship's name, you can go over to check out the shipping schedules:

http://www.kline.com/KAMCarCarrier/S...g_Schedule.pdf

Then, you can track your ship:

http://www.marinetraffic.com/

Enjoy!!! Waiting is half the fun!!
