Probably something very easy that I'm missing, but anyone removed the gas cap for plastidipping?

What am I missing as far as being able to remove it?

Probably not. I can't speak for the F56, but I've seen the topic discussed for previous generations (e.g. swapping the gas cap cover between S and non-S) and it was a fairly involved project. Just mask off and do it in place.

 

It's very easy. There's a tab on the inside you have to pry up then you turn the cap and it comes right off.

there is a small notch accessible from the back and with a small flat head, I pulled it out and then rotated the cap counter clockwise.
