created a new thread in the modifications sub-thread explaining how to use an OTG cable to affordably log data for Terry and the ongoing development of both the Stage1 and the JB4.

So I've found that the new boost is strong and fun (obviously) but if I shift in the medium rev range to a lower gear and continue to floor it that the car struggles/hops and seems bogged down until 5 seconds later the boost picks back up. Is this normal/ what am I experiencing?

Correct me but it's not 5 seconds later, but hops until you hit 3k RPM at which point it disappears, right?

Sounds like a long time, however the lag should be no more than during the same circumstances stock.

I don't think the lag is necessarily longer but just severely worse lol

i had that issue but upgraded to the JB4 before i could resolve it. doesn't happen on the JB4 as it's a brand new circuit board.

in either case, i would suggest that you setup logging. it's going to be the one thing that you can show. explaining to terry this problem won't get you much support, but the logs will show the bogging and all the fuel values and from there he will suggest tweaks (adjust boostsafe value, fuel open loop, wastegate, etc...).

if you already have an android phone/tablet, just verify that it supports OTG and just get a $4 cable. that along with your usb/serial cable that came withe the Stage 1 kit, and your're set. oh yeah, the JB4 mobile app is $28.

otherwise, use your laptop with JB4 and log that way.

using the tablet is easier as there isn't much you need to do. it's already preconfigured (the jb4 mobile app) so once you load it up, it's already preconfigured to log anything after 70% throttle.

that being said, i would purposely go into 3rd gear at a low RPM, gun it, and let it go all the way. export the log and send it over to terry. hell, i sent him some logs that ended @ 4500 RPM and it was enough for him to send me some suggestions (again, i have the JB4).

i would also mention to him that you're running stage 1.

Marco

The problem with your specific car is settings are entered wrong causing the JB4 to go to safety mode during a pull.

For the rest of you, I check this forum maybe once a month, so if you need assistance you're going to want to post on the N54tech support area, or email tech support.

It's a stage 1 Beta and like I said the boost kicks back in eventually if I let off the gas and then come back on it. Thoughts?
