What do you mean installed wrong, did you install just using the TMAP connection or did you use the MAP and TMAP like the directions suggest?

Their page say it increases boost from 8 to 11 psi for B48.

Reinstalled with just TMAP. So far so good.

As alluring as the call of extra HPs is; I guess I'll hold off for a bit until I hear some more positive feedback. Stock can be trick!!!

So, probably OT, but, which models have which engines in the F series?

What I'm asking is -

a) Is it worth it for every day commuting?
b) How much of a difference does it really make? (I'm not talking numbers here - just the 'feel' of it) Give me examples I can relate to.
I mean is it the same difference between green mode and sport, or is it less than that?
c) A few people mentioned glitches running the tune on a 2015. Should I wait until something more reliable comes along?

Thanks!
Let me help you out. I've had the Burger Stage 1 installed on my '14 Mini Cooper S for about a year now. So I'm accustomed to the new performance level. Last month I had to take my car in for service and they kept it for about a week. I got a '15 Mini Cooper S as a loaner. After driving the stock '15 for almost a week, it just felt way sluggish. I knew, of course, why. So I get my car back and BAM! What a huge seat of the pants difference. I absolutely could not drive a stock S. IMO the increased power/torque provided by the Stage 1 tuner is exactly what this car needs. By the way, I ALWAYS drive in Sport mode. Drove the loaner in Sport mode, too. Mid and Economy modes? Never use them!

F55/F56 (North American spec):
- Cooper: B36 (2014-15 models have the B38)
- Cooper S: B46 (2014 models have the B48)
- F56 JCW: B48O

I thought the B46 was the F55 and the B48 was for the F56?
(Note, found out the B46 is the engine code, same as the B48, just more efficient)

So been driving with the tuner for a week now. No problems. The performance increase is pretty nice. It seems like the car took a couple of days to settle into the tuner. A lot of mini owners poopoo the 3 banger, but what a fun car to drive with the tuner. So far my mileage has not really suffered. I think that I will be keeping it.

Nothing poopoo about the 3 cylinder. Those who talk bad about it probably have never driven one. The engine is absolutely brilliant IMHO! My F56 3 banger is the best MINI I've owned and that includes owning 2 S models.

yes this is my first mini. I had a choice between the 2012 S and the 2014 3s (what I call it) and I settled for the all BMW 2014. I am not sorry I did, we traveled down to MiniPalooza last week doing 11 hours in the car, and it was a blast the whole way. Car rides pretty well.

The tuner just adds that little bit of performance that I was craving. Well worth the 4 hundred bucks for the performance.

Get one adds the extra bit of fun. Had no issues with mine but wife stopped by dealer before taking it off, and they told her if anything goes wrong with engine they might not cover, since I still have 75000 miles of warranty I took it off. And I really miss it.

Agree. It's more fun than the S as far as I'm concerned because it just feels lighter and more go cart. Plus the 3 cylinder exhaust sounds unique too.

So I have the stage 1 beta and I used to run flex fuel so I pinned the ff cable in the stage 1 box. I no longer want to run ff, do pull it out or should I leave it pinned in but just don't plug into the car anymore? Help please!!!! Thanks

Edit: what do I need to change back on the interface to make it run on regular 93 again? Do I have to mess with the open loop or anything? B48 engine here. Thanks again!

FF adapter isn't just to run FF. it also adjusts the fuel trims accordingly when you go higher in boost.

no need to revert anything afaik. as long as it runs well, you should be fine.

i'm on the JB4 w/FF and the only change i made was the general FF rule to adjust the openloop to 50 (or was it 60?)

The gentleman who used it before me changed some of the setting on it and was running FF. I'm looking to just "revert" it back to the standard settings as bms sells them.

What are the default settings?

For changing boost etc... I know we need to download the software from N54 tech. Is it the JB4 interface here?:

http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29995

What are the hex files? is there anything else I need?

Ok thanks, and that's +3.5 for the boost right? Can you also help me with the question above your last response? Thanks man, I really appreciate it!
