Craven Speed Customer Service

I got a Platypus front license plate mount from Craven Speed a month ago. When I realized that the (stainless steel) screws they include are perfectly matched to the standard depth, I also realized that I would need two slightly longer screws to accommodate the E-Z Pass I typically mount on my front plate. I could have gone to Home Depot & just picked up two longer screws, but I sent email to Adam at Craven Speed mentioning that, and he immediately sent out (4) longer screws. No charge.

My F56 was (finally) just delivered a week ago, and when I mounted the Platypus, it became apparent that it slightly occluded the beam of the front parking sensor (I got the Driving Assistant package), so I was getting intermittent alerts. I sent Adam some email again, and they immediately sent out an offset extension arm. Again, no charge.

I am truly impressed by this customer service.

(By the way, the picture below is of my 2009 Clubman S. I haven't taken pictures yet of my new BRG F56 S).

When I received my Platypus last month, Craven didn't include any screws in the box. Not a big deal since I have not yet received my plates yet, but Craven sent me two screws priority mail. I have also purchased a stubby antenna and dip stick from them and service and shipping has been excellent.

Okay. Now you have me curious. Why do you mount an EZPass outside, on a license plate? To make it easier for someone to steal? Is it a special "exterior" EZPass? Mine have lived successfully and unobtrusively for a long time inside at the top of the windshield, but they're just polystyrene and don't appear to be especially well-sealed so I wouldn't consider mounting them outside.

CravenSpeed & Sewell Parts: A++++

I wanted to echo the sentiments in this thread for customer service not only by CravenSpeed, but also SewellParts as well. With my experience with both businesses, they really do care about customer satisfaction!

The customer support team at Craven Speed communicated with me promptly about tightening a bolt on their universal iPhone mount, Sewell Parts was just as prompt about answering questions about items (which I ended up ordering).

That sort of attention to their customer's needs is sorely lacking at most businesses nowadays.

I'm glad they serve the MINI community.

The outside mounts originated when some car windshields were opaque to the signals. That's when I got mine. They are different from the inside versions - they are sealed and shaped to be long enough to span the two top screws. I don't like having things stuck on my windshield (just like I don't like screwing license plate mounts into my front bumper). In my area, these things are not typically stolen. I don't drive into or park in NYC, though.

Ah. Thank you. I suppose this never occurred to me as we're fortunately spared the annoyance of a front plate.

You don't have to stop there. Anyone else?

I'll pile on! I love the stuff Kellen and crew put out. And, as everyone else has said, the CS is topnotch. Couldn't ask for better people to deal with.
Now that we have the warm fuzzies out of the way... How about that new nGauge oil pressure gauge?
