3-cyl with engine stumble on start up

Has anyone else notice a slight engine stumble and high rev after starting your F56 3-cyl engine? I have a manual transmission and when I start it in the morning, or after it has set for several hours, it has a slight stumble down to about 400 or 500 rpm and then it shoots up to about 1,500rpm for about 2 seconds. It hasn't cause a stall or any driving problems, but it just started this about a week ago with around 900 miles on it.

I'm going to ask them to check it out when I take it in next week. So far I've had only minor issues that include a weeping windshield washer jet and creaking drivers side seat (standard seats).

My car is still on the ship so I can't comment too much. From my Avalon/Maxima experience, both cars would go into high rev around 2000rmp upon start up and then came down to 1000+rpm after the engine warm up in a few minutes. It's strange that Mini's warm up period is only a few seconds instead of minutes.

Haven't noticed that specifically, I'll watch my RPMs when starting though to see what they do, though I am on an automatic, but I doubt that'll change much just on flipping the switch.

I have seen one odd thing on start/stop, if my engine stops at a sign/light, and its raining, sometimes when it restarts itself while idle (like it'll do on long stops), it... double starts? The ignition rumble will happen twice back to back, which is a bit disconcerting.

I actually don't mind the slightly high rpms when I start it and it is warming up. I had a subaru that would do this forever before getting back to normal. My bigger concern is the stumble it does around 400 to 500 rpm for a few seconds before it bounces up to 1,500 rpm.

I just went out for lunch and took the car and it ran perfectly, it could be because it's 95 degrees out. It usually only happens when it is cool in the morning.

I'll have to keep my eye on the rpm's. I've experienced this hesitation for the first 1/2 block every morning since I've had the car. 1st gear, 2nd gear, roll to end of 1/2 block and never does it again until the next morning. Hasn't made any difference whether it's 48 or 76 degrees.

Patriot, that is almost exactly what I am experiencing. It has a stumble and hesitation for a couple hundred feet, and then runs perfect the remainder of the trip. I'm going to mention it when I take it in on Friday. If they come up with a fix, I'll post it.
