Was at my local dealership's Motortober event yesterday. They've received one (of the ~20 they've sold + lot cars) 2015's on their lot to date. Between the MA and SA and financing lady, I could sense a lot of frustration at the whole process. (My car is *still* in limbo between the port and the VDC. See my signature.)

Your dealer's open on Sunday?

Congratulations! Go get a cheeseburger and welcome him/her to freedom!

Angrymini, congratulations, there's hope for us still in the queue! How long did you wait? Does this mean you're happymini now?

By law, dealers in Colorado can't sell cars on Sunday. Seems we're still chained to puritanical laws, though the Puritans didn't have cars! On the bright side, we can now buy full strength beer on the Lord's day. Priorities!

We can buy beer and wine but you have to wait until after church. It's either 11 or 12, I can never remember which. MINI dealer is closed though.

Hah! In Arkansas, dealers closed AND no booze. My previous state was Texas; dealers closed and booze after Noon.

You've got pot, though!

(Funny thing is, I don't drink or smoke, and only need a Sunday dealer about once every 4 or 5 years.)

Did mini / dealer provide any purchase certificates or discounts for attending the event? Is it just a glorified test drive or is it actually a full on event?

We had moisture in the headlights at delivery. It evaporated pretty quickly. I assumed they were sealed but they aren't. The MA thought it was from them washing the car for PDI. I'm really surprised the lights allow moisture and possible bugs. Not that bug would be attracted to light. I haven't looked yet to see where they are open.

MINI of Loveland provided no discounts for my attendance.

whatever is making the rattle noise seems to be drivetrain related. I can create the noise with the clutch. whenever i start to pull out, if i start easing up the clutch slowly and then kinda fast, i can hear something shift. i can also hear it again when i shift into 2nd.
i think it may be the same loose part i hear moving around over bumps.

Woohoo!!! Dealer just sent me this picture. Car should be available for pick up in a day or two. Not sure what's up with the filter on the picture but she looks gorgeous! Another White Silver MCS in the mix!

Haven't heard anything from my MA since before my car hit port on the 15th. Reached out to him for any kind of update, so here's hoping he has good news for me!

mikeymike, I was hoping that truck would continue straight up I25 and drop off my MC in Colorado. No word today. Maybe it's sleeping at a truck stop.

Veg......talked to the owner of our dealer today. Nice guy, but doesn't have any idea where our cars are. He said he got two unsold cars today and immediately called Mini to find out why he got those instead of pre-solds........didn't get any concrete answer he said........
ugh.

Apparently the whole "custom ordered cars being priority" was not the case. The port was so full (Port Hueneme) that in order to accommodate all of the cars, the GM here in Albuquerque told me they were housing a good amount of them on the Air Force base and just shipping as they were able too. They couldn't drive the transport truck on base so each Mini Cooper had to be driven off base one by one and then loaded onto the truck so the order of the cars was so messed up.

I'll bet they did something like that for the Brunswick cars, too. I'd heard some were taken off premises, which explains why my car had more miles than my last one did at delivery.

Yep, I was told my car had been taken off site for storage, and that was part of the hold up in getting car to dealer.

The 19 miles at delivery jives with being taken off site and then (probably) brought back to VDC. If I recall, my 2009 MCS (also ordered) was delivered with 5 miles.

My '07 had 2, this one had 12. Used car!

Has about 600 now, and today is the one week anniversary of delivery.
