Well, it's a little more complicated like that. I do have a production number, but there was an error in that order because of some changes in the packages. In addition, I'm working with a brand new dealer that doesn't have things completely set up yet. Color swatches, for example--they're still on the boat. The computer isn't initialized for this dealer, either, so some things don't work properly yet.

 

Production week: when and how do I get one? I already have the production number and it is current status is on order.

 

the dealer gave me a production number and it would be week 27. My is still showing on order in the owner lounge; but I have been told the update on the owner lounge is slow to update.

 

Ask your MA, they'll have it if you've got one. You could called 1-866-ASK-MINI as well and get a human rep and see if they can tell you, but your MA should know.

Got my VIN this morning too. My MA told me week 28.

Just called Ask MINI and using my production number the automated response says my MINI is due to be completed on July 4. That means it must have been on the line before showing "scheduled for production" and also before the build week my MA gave me. Interesting. Can this be right?

My is July 4th completion also. When I put the Vin in the Vin Decoder nothing shows up. I guess that has to catch up also?

 

Same here. VIN gives nothing. My info came from the production number. My car will come to Brunswick GA VDC, what about you?

Does anyone know what the changeover date was? I ordered on 5/31, so the order went in on 6/2. The car is shown as built and sitting on the dock. After reading some of these 2014-2015 posts, I'm beginning to wonder if I've got some kind of a weird half-breed Frankenstein V-8 conglomeration. Or maybe it's just fine.

 

Week 27 is the first week of 2015. I am on week 27 and is in production this week. So you should have a 2014. You can tell by your Vin #

 

My completion date is July 4. There are ships leaving July 7th, July 13th , July 18th, July 19th and July 27th. Which ship do you think I will be on?

 

7th if you've very lucky, probably the 13th.
It only takes a few hours to get to the port by train from the factory, but you've got to get in line with all the others, and then they are loaded on the ships in order. Definitely people who have made it on a boat that fast, but everything has to line up right for that to happen. 13th shouldn't be an issue though.

 

Mine is scheduled to be competed on 7/3/2014 -according to the automated system so you think there is a chance it will be on the 7/7/2014 ship? How do you find out what ship it will be on? :-)

 

We have the proprietor's reserve - a limited quantity of Gen 3 cars made prior to the change-over to the full set of 2015 specs.

Perhaps when it arrives I'll pack it in cosmoline and wait for its inevitable appreciation.

That would be my luck! A rare limited edition that I'd be nuts to drive, like a 1970 Plymouth Superbird. If so I'll give Jay Leno or Prince Harry first right of refusal, then I'm hittin' the road!

 

My order went through June 11th, and production completed June 24th. Since the scheduled for production stage takes about a week, I'm assuming orders that went through around June 23rd will be the last of the 2014 models (That is of course assuming the dealer had a spot available).

 

I guess this is as good as place as any for a first post.
