F56 Side Scuttles

Tough to find many pictures of the F56 sporting side scuttles. Saw one pic of a VO with Black and Grey Checkers. Would love to see a good shot of the VO with the Black Jack side scuttles.

Any of you added these? How permanent are they once applied to the car?

Mine should be arriving shortly and I will post photos. They sent me some black and grey checks by mistake....

Hope this picture shows up, I dont know what I'm doing. Black Jack scuttles on white silver. They're much larger than the R56 ones and I stressed out about them before they went on. But I like them on the white silver with black stripes.

I'm considering these on my BRG II/black F56.

My dealer had been open exactly a week when these were put on. My car was the 1st new Mini sold in the state the week before. (I've been not so patiently waiting since my April order) But now on topic... My service advisor said he thought they could be removed just fine, but since they go on with adhesive on the paint, I would think that once you do it you may be committed like stripes or graphics and have some discoloration in that large depressed spot. I don't plan on removing them though.

I've got a white silver just like yours. I've ordered the blackjack mirror caps too. I sure like how they look on yours! It was a toss up with the gold jack but after seeing yours I think I made the right choice. Thanks for posting the pic.

I believe its no big deal to remove stripes and go with something else if you so decide. At least, thats what my dealer is telling me. Hoping the scuttles are the same?

This video has some quick shots of the Black Jack side scuttles on VO and they do look fantastic. Professional vid's can usually pull that off better than real life though.

Though this is my 4th Mini, it's my 1st with stripes, so I have no experience with them. I've read that some get a ghost stripe discoloration when they remove them. I'm sure it depends on how much time the car depends in the sun or whatever. Mine has to spend all day cooking in a hot parking lot everyday while I'm at work. Rex is just destined to be a striped car though and if remove these, it will be to replace with the same.

Why did they make them so big and gaudy looking? They should have stuck to the R56 size.

What he said. Not digging it. Shades of the R53 checkerboard everything craze.

The size works for me, although I am very nervous about it looking gaudy in the end and thats why I am hoping they are not permanent. I think combining them with the mirror covers is pushing it over the top, but the scuttles look great to me at least. However I love the scuttle/mirror combo with the dark checker and pepper white car that Steve (I think thats who it was, in Denver) has.

The size bothered me too at 1st, but after the blackjack mirror caps were installed, the huge naked depression (ha, THATS sad sounding) there bothered me more. O well, I figure that if F56 owners can't get past the size to order them, the more ME my car is...well and papawhiskeys too...I think my car looks and IS amazing.

I ordered them when I placed my order for the car. Black and gray checkered. I never considered the car without them. Mirror caps to match. I think it adds dimension to the overall appearance.

Has anyone done this install themselves? The instructions I received only talk about the adhesive and not the side light removal needed for the installation. Thanks.

I agree. In my opinion they look cheap and are WAY too large. Wish they did some sort of "half size" or something. Maybe someone will come up with an aftermarket option down the road.

The black/gray checkers were definitely a deciding factor when I bought my car. I loved the subtleness of them against the Midnight Black. I've built a million different cars on the configurator too and I always go back to the black/gray checks. But I do like the Black Jack as well.

I ordered the blackjack mirror caps but I'm going to pass on the scuttles (for now). I think it's cool that our cars are the same except for the wheels. You went dark and I opted for the silver cone spokes. They'd be great sitting side by side in a parking lot!

Those caps and scuttles look great with the black! They're subtle but make a perfect statement.

I agree. If ever decide to move away from the BlackJack theme, nice to know these are available.

They do look good with the black car. Not a big fan of black cars though.
