The 10th character/digit of VIN indicates model year ... as above "E" for 2014 and "F" for 2015.

Thanks.
Mine's a 2014 and due to be complete this Friday, 6/13, assuming watching World Cup doesn't delay things. My serial number is WMWXM5C57ET972470. The production number is all numbers and 7 numbers long.

As I stated earlier, the letter before the chassis number is the model year of the vehicle. In the example above, chassis number T972470, the "E" verifies that it is a 2014 model. Thank you for your attention

Driver Assist ?

Pardon my ignorance, but the Driver Assist Package is not currently on the 2014-2015 models? I been watching some reviews online and everyone I have seen it has it unless I am completely missing something?

Not available on 2014 models in the US, I think I read it'll be added at a later date for 2015, but isn't listed on the immediate changes. November production or delivery is supposed to get more features added, like JCW exterior package. Maybe Driver's Assist will go in then as well?

Hmm, I was planning placing my order beginning July for possible delivery in November (30th birthday present from me to me) but now I am wondering if I should wait.

The JCW exterior package should only be on a JCW, IMO, so me getting the S, that doesn't worry me. Driver Assist package is interesting though but the question is would I use it enough and would it be work the price? This package I am assuming includes adaptive cruise control (don't do a lot of highway driving), pedestrian warning (which I don't think I would use a lot) and auto braking in traffic (which could be useful, maybe).

Yeah, I was disappointed when my MA told me it wasn't out in the US yet, especially since its in all the marketing materials. All the stuff you identified sounds right, I think there's another small piece where if you have the HUD it'll read the speed limit signs and display the current speed limit on the HUD as well.

That will be "cool." Be interesting to see what the price would be. The driver assist package for the 2 series is $700. I would pay $500 for it.

I can finally add myself this MY2015 ordered thread. Just got my production number emailed to me tonight, and sure enough, it's in there as a 2015. Woo hoo!

We put an order in last night and my MA said it will be a 2015 model. They didn't have exact pricing on it yet (and I haven't received my production number) but I just wanted to get in line since we've been waiting for so long.

According to the 2015 price list....

5AS Active Driving Assistant is $1,000 and requires 5DU (Park Assist Pkg), ZFL (Fully Loaded Pkg), and ZWU (Wired Upgrade). So basically you need a fully loaded car and pay $1K for the option. Yikes.

Can you please PM me the 2015 pricing. Going to be placing my order towards the end of the month or early July. Just still debating back and forth on whether I want a manual or automatic. Always driven manual in the past but don't know if I want to sacrifice the cost of paying for the automatic. Any advice would be greatly appreciated as well to those who drive the manual or automatic :-)

Wow... the Park Assist Package I can understand, its adds some sensors, the Wired Upgrade, OK, it adds the rear cam, more sensors and the HUD... those may all be required for the drivers assist stuff to work. But the fully loaded package? So you've got to have a Sunroof and HK audio for the driver assist stuff to work? Hrmph.

Is that maybe an 'or' on those package, must have one of those?

I felt the same way, read it several times. Verbatim... "5AS requires ordering 5DU, ZFL and ZWU"

Their bundling schemes in the 2015 price list are off-putting.

Where is this 2015 price list. Please send it or the link for it. I was at a dealer yesterday and asked about when or what on the 2015's and they had no answers on them

If you PM me your email, I'll send it your way. I can't attach a file to a PM, otherwise I would send to you.

I'll send to anyone else if you PM me your email.

FYI, the base price is $500 low on this price list as I believe this is a "military" / "overseas diplomatic" price list and they get a slight base MSRP discount. Also, it may show some options that are not available for our US purchases.

But the options appear to be correct, having just finalized my deal on my 2015 order instead of a 2014.

completely frustrated!! So I got screwed out of a 2014. Short version...placed order April 11 but was told no slot for contrasting roof or H/K. So I had no choice but to reconfigure for 2015. MA told me he had a slot for me....I got all excited. when I asked when I would expect delivery he said mid October because production will start in mid August!! why in August?!? why would it not start in July?! I know it is just one month but I have waited too long.

people told me to go to another dealer but this one is 2 blocks from my house and the next closest one is 200 miles.

when are your MA telling you that your car will go in production for a 2015?

vhines: What you're being told matches what I've been told. The factory is shut down for retooling in July (switching over from the MY14 to the MY15).

I work in the technical field where we manufacture stuff and this is very common. Retooling a factory is a huge deal and unfortunately you just got caught in a weird spot due to the timing.

That being said, I really think Mini flubbed the roll out of the F56. The delays for the new models caused the MY14 cars to only be produced for a few months before they had to shut down again to transition to MY15. I think that was a poor decision and they should have just run the R56 models one more year and officially released the F56 as an early 2015 model... but that's just my opinion.

Everyone with a 2014 F56 will have a rare car since there aren't that many of them!!
