What is the average wait time? 8-10 weeks?
Agree--what IS the Drivers Assistant package??? Is it the thing that parks the car?

The driver assist package was explained to me as the active cruise control and automatic braking according to the dealer. I do believe there is more to it though including the front facing camera on the upper windshield. I decided not to opt for the package due to the fact that I really want to know everything I get for the 1000.00. The one that assists with parking and parallel parking is the Park Assist Package.

HUD can show, so far that I've seen: Current Speed, Cruise Control Indicator + Set Cruise Speed, and then Nav stuff: Distance to next Navigation turn and direction, near turns it'll say the name of the road you'll be turning on, and during exits it'll show which lane you should be in, and during road splits it'll show a Y indicator with the fork you need highlighted.

Very cool! Thank you so much for the information! I was just curious as to what is all displayed. Excited to utilize the display when my MINI finally arrives.

If it is the same as the UK driver assistant package, it also adds speed limit signs to the HUD/Driver display.

Hi All,

I can't find the post that first mentioned it, but did get confirmation from my MA that the bundles have been changed for the 2015. I was able to remove the Alarm so it looks like extra $ for unwanted accessories won't be an issue for the new model year.

Wanted to give an update on something I missed from the HUD, which has quickly become my favorite part of it.

When playing music stored on the car's hard drive, if you press the song up/down selectors on the steer wheel, the track list shows up in the HUD so you can scroll through and select a song.

I attempted to do the same through BlueTooth and it tried to pull the list up but had an error, though I wasn't using the MINI Connected App at that time. It may work with other song selection stuff!

Also when using voice commands when the MINI was reading back options I could say, they'd display in the HUD in a voice-bubble.

yeah, great deal!!

we had went in Thursday because I was considering trading my Golf TDI for a Clubman S. I almost bought a Clubman back in 2011, but they wouldn't give me anything for my trade at the time. I still liked the car, so I went in to drive one again and talk numbers.

I wasn't a huge fan of the new hardtop, based on pictures, but after seeing it in person I fell in love. I drove a new S model and told them I would buy one if they gave me a fair number on my trade. We were close to a deal but they were closing and the manager was gone.

That night the wife told me that she really liked the car too. I have been pushing her to get rid of her '08 Focus that is near 100k miles.

The salesman called me Friday and told me the manager would give me what I wanted for my trade. So on Saturday I went in to order mine and she test drove a Cooper with an automatic. They ended up agreeing on more than we thought we could get for her well used Focus, so we ordered a second!

I just hope hers doesn't get here before me or I'll be very jealous!!

Thanks! I believe they are week 27.

I can't wait to take a picture with the two of them peeking out of our garage
(and to drive the heck out of it, of course )

We're "pregnant!"

After years of looking, lurking, configuring - took the plunge today.

Ordered:
2015 Cooper
Blazing Red/White
JCW interior with Cloth:Double stripe carbon & Piano black dash
16" silver victory spoke
Equipped with almost everything including the new Driver Assist.

Told MA about various postings here regarding Driver Assist (officially "Active Driving Assistant" code 5AS) and he checked with someone in Product Planning. It's on their 2015 price list and he was told he can go ahead and order it. Order was placed and it hasn't been kicked out or anything (yet) so it sure seems like it's available in US now. (Not on configurator though) Now I'm going back to read the tracking threads much more closely.

Congratulations! Not sure if you'll find any tracking info on this site. You know people here... they order and then just sit back and patiently wait for their car to arrive.

Thanks. Hah, looking at your signature just realized I ordered exactly 2 months from when you did. And thanks again for the peek at your seats. That is what convinced me to go with the cloth. Maybe we'll run into each other at a maintenance clinic or something. Hope you are happily motoring.

So how much extra is the driver assistance package?

I took the plunge as well. Ordered mine yesterday and got the production number today. I went all out and got:

2015 Mini Cooper S - White Silver - Auto with paddles
Dynamic Damper Control
Fully Loaded package (sport, premium, and wired packages)
Wired Upgrade
Black Bonnet Stripes
JCW Black Side Stripes
JCW Interior package
Cross Leather: Punch Black
Black Cosmos
Chrome Lined interior
Spoiler
roof rails

And now it is a waiting game. I did get a few dealer installed accessories as well. I have been wanting one since The Italian Job....the best advertisement MINI has ever had.

Which edition--old or new?

I used to watch Minis race at our local track outside St. Louis, back in the late '60s and early '70s. I always said I wanted a red one...and now I do, albeit a MINI. Still looking for a classic, too.

I'm not crazy about the new red, so my new one will be a White-Silver. Already know what graphics I want to dress it up with!

You did go all out!

That sounds like a fantastic build!!!

I'm thinking I might like some side graphics on my build, but I'm having a hard time coming up with something I think will look good on BRG.

I think it's $1000, but there's a lot of other options that have to already be on the car or it's a no go.

The second one. I haven't seen the first one actually; it is on my list.

Color wise, I was debating on the Thunder Grey, White Silver, and VO. With the white silver being the cooler of the three, I went with that one.

I think for $1,000, I will leave it out. It has some nice features but that is getting a little too automated for me. I feel the same with the parking assistant.
