I did indeed. I pushed an MC to $31850 MSRP, which I think is insane. But I had my first Mini for just short of 6 years and after selling it myself, it worked out to being $225 a month in lost value (price paid - price sold / months owned). And I enjoyed driving that car every darn day, and for me, it was reliable.

I figure the MC will likely be owned for at least 6 years if not more, and I expect to enjoy it as much if not more. I do think I may take a little bit more of a hit resale wise being an MC and not a MCS, but I also think that it will actually hold value pretty well as it's a very nice turbo, and that 3 cyl mileage is also going to be a plus at resale time. And if it behaves, I likely will keep it for at least 8 years, i.e. up to about 100K miles. I was just worried that the R56 (which had 65K miles) was going to have a 2K or more repair coming -- perhaps an irrational fear but one I had trouble shaking. Then I drove the F56, basked in the features, and I was hooked.

Well, as they say "If you have to ask...." Actually, it's a lot. $1,000. I really wanted it though and have been putting off my build in order to get it.

You got off easy--mine's a few hundred bucks more! Hope you got the MINI USA loyalty rebate of $250.

I have somewhat the same view on the R56 as you did, but with a lot more miles on mine. Mine is 7 1/2 years old, with 101,000 miles--likely about 103,000 by the time the new one comes. It's been quite reliable (I did do the timing chain thing, at dealer expense, back in 2012). I'm noticing a fair number of rattles, though, mostly from the sun roof. It's been taken out and put back in a few times in an attempt to stop them. I also see some new suspension components and tires in the future if I keep it.

Fortunately, money isn't the problem it used to be in our younger years, especially that we finally got rid of our old house (yay for improving real estate sales!), and this is likely one of the last cars I order. Not that I have one foot in a retirement home just yet, but I'm afraid I'm not that much younger than the dog in people years (he's 12), and Hubby's tied with him. MINIs do keep one young!

Funny statement given your new cars are over $30K!

As I understand it, right now that's on 2014 Hardtops, and ends on 6/30 though it may be extended. And I believe it's a Mini Financial thing that comes into play if you finance with them. If you know something different, let me know.

Car won't be delivered until second week of August at the earliest. Even with build done 7/2, it has to get to Southampton, and ships to CA leave 7/2, 7/16, and 7/30 -- so I expect to be on 7/16 boat which arrives in CA on 8/6. Then figure a week to get to dealer and be ready for pickup. So, bottom line, have to see if there's loyalty rebate in effect in August, and if it makes sense to finance with Mini. Right now, local credit union is 1.5%, and USAA might extend their 0.8% off of a 1.39% rate for 36 months -- I like to just pay the car off and be done with it.

I'm not aware of any endpoint. Go on the website and see what applies. I was told we got it on ours, cash sale, no finance department involved. You just have to be a MINI owner within the past year.

Equipped with almost everything including the new Driver Assist.

Told MA about various postings here regarding Driver Assist (officially "Active Driving Assistant" code 5AS) and he checked with someone in Product Planning. It's on their 2015 price list and he was told he can go ahead and order it. Order was placed and it hasn't been kicked out or anything (yet) so it sure seems like it's available in US now. (Not on configurator though) Now I'm going back to read the tracking threads much more closely.
Well, I don't know if I have the Driver Assist or not (leaning toward not). My build just showed up in the tracker (in lieu of dealer spec car) and it does NOT have the driver assist pkg listed in the "review order" but seems to have everything else. Emailed MA, but today is his day off. I've always thought I'll believe it when I see it and this seems to affirm that thinking.

I found information listed in the Mini owner's Lounge is incomplete when comparing to the BMW VIN decoder, but even BMW VIN decoder seemed to missing a few options. My MA has assured me that my order was correct. I guess I will find out in a month. Active Driving Assistant(ADA) wasn't available back on 5/31 when I placed my order. I will decline to take delivery if important option(s) is missing and re-order a '15 one with ADA.

Thanks. You make me feel better about it (at least a little). The dealer did say if it's on the price list, it's available. It makes sense as other options that we know for sure are coming later (JCW exterior for example) are not on the currently effective list. So, with your words of wisdom I will relax and trust the adage, if it's on the list, it's available (and still on my build). (Of course a post by someone else saying he/she was told mid-August continues to nag at me.)

Ok, my MA just emailed me (on his day off no less) to let me know that all is well. Now I can go back to (or start) waiting patiently.

Mine showed on the tracking portion of the owners lounge after it showed the status after the flash intro. I believe it was under the tab that says review order or order details.

Crazy Mini,

I ordered on 5/31 and my MA informed me both the production ID number and VIN on 6/5. You can also obtain the VIN number from Mini Owner lounge if you got the production ID number.

My MA told me it's 8-10 weeks to SF Bay Area. Mine is right there around 8 weeks if you count the dates listed in my signature section below. If it arrived at the port one day earlier, it would have made the Mignon which departed on 6/18 and shorten my wait time to 7 weeks.

I ordered my last Saturday and was told I am in week 27 production. Still listed as on order and has not updated to schedule for production. Am I going be in Week 27 or not?

The entire tracking system is slow and behind at all steps. It likely won't update to Scheduled for Production in the Owner's Lounge and automated line until its actual begun production. If a rep or your MA gave you week 27, then that should be correct.

Truth. If I call ASK MINI, they say my car is still at the port in England. Your MA will know the most updated info.

Thank you all so much for the info! This is honestly the best forum I have ever been a part of. That you all for being so informative and for being willing to answer my random questions :-) I keep seeing how nice the Viper stripes look and am somewhat interested. Do you have to get those after delivery or is that an accessory from the factory? Also, does anyone have any pictures of the New hardtop in white silver? Interested to see some real photos other than the one on the mini configuration.

I do not have pictures of white silver but I almost order that color. It is sharp with the black roof and black bonnet stripe. I went with the deep blue only because there are too many silver cars where I live and therefore went with the deep blue. Hopefully I will have pictures in 7 weeks

Well, I thought I'd ordered a 2015. I mean, I sat down at the desk, signed the papers, and handed over a deposit check. Turns out it couldn't be ordered because of the package changes, and MINI's continuing website issues. Stopped in again today and tried to order--still no luck. Will try again on Monday. MINI USA must use the same programmer as a certain medical insurance site...

Sounds fishy, my dealer (Patrick Mini) was able to take my order even when the site was showing the 2014 model.

Manager was able to enter it so it showed the updated packages/prices for my 2015 order. Received the production number as well and that was about 2 weeks ago.
