For example, I have button 1 as my "go home" nav button. I press 1 to set the nav to go home. Simple. But I then press "8" which is programmed to switch to a second profile, then on this profile, 1 is set to, let's say driving excitement.

Means you can have 14 quick presets stored instead of 8.
Cool trick.

I'm happy enough just dialing/arrowing through the apparent available 40 presets; seems easier to me than the two key fob approach, fwiw. Damn, 40 is a large number; I'm really loving the mini beemer.

I found there is a setting in Sirius that will automatically bring up the Traffic and Weather report when it become available for the chosen area. That allow me to set it and continue listening to my preferred channel.

I was surprised by this myself. Never had a car that did this before. It only happens when changing gears. I don't know if this includes down shifts because I haven't had the need to try this. It'll shut off if you go into neutral. It's convenient not having to reset the cruise control. There's no racing of the engine (the car knows what you're doing).

My previous manual 328i had this feature. Since BMW now makes the engine and transmission this feature carries over to the new Mini

I'm sure most of you know this by now, that when you hold the wings (unlock) button on the remote longer, it will open the all the windows down, then the moonroof all the way...

But is there any way to close it all up again using the remote? I tried holding the lock button but it didnt do anything...

Lightly touching the radio preset buttons without pushing them will display the name of the saved channel on the screen. Very useful if you don't remember what station is saved under which preset without flipping through all of them

If you have your home address properly stored under the "Home" entry in the car's address book you can use the voice command "Take me home" to automatically route you home without hitting anything else but the voice activation button

My F56 has Visual Boost with Mini Connected. I've discovered that when I have no cell service while using a bluetooth connection to my iPhone, I have no access to Siri and therefore no music will play from the phone thru the stereo.

I recently learned that connecting the phone to the console USB port will give me access thru the mini connected Multimedia menu option to my music thru the car stereo without having to handle the phone itself while driving.

One Pull to Open

My new 2015 Cooper S does something curious unless this is the way it should be. I've owned a 2006 Cooper S and a 2011 Cooper and the door pulls had to be pulled twice to open the doors from the inside when the car was locked. My new 1 week old MINI opens on one pull even with the doors locked. Does this seem right? I hope I'm being clear. I don't have kids but how is this safe? Thanks.

Perfectly normal on the new 3rd gen MINIs. The double pull was a source of complaints on a lot of the JD Power surveys so MINI responded by changing it to a single pull. The back doors still have child locks in the back you can turn on though.

I have adaptive LED headlamps. The headlamps turn left and right with the indicators. Not on high beam though.

Thank you for answering me in both threads. I forgot I posted my question twice.

Which switch is that? Are you talking about the overhead maplights?

The one next to that Blues.. The same one that changes the interior lighting to whatever color you desire. If you hold it, it will flash and turn on to a 'disco' setting. Just something I stumbled across just recently.

On the LED head lights, they actually have a second set of lights inside the housing that light up 90 degrees outward instead of having swiveling lights like the 2nd gen MINI adaptive headlights have. If you look at your headlight assembly, you'll see the little window where they come out.

This is more of a "something you might not know" F56 tidbit. My F56 will show a warning on my speedo accompanied by an audible tone when the external temperature drops to 37 degrees F. According to the Mini genius at my dealership, this "feature" cannot be disabled or edited in any way.

Second Gen did this too, I could've sworn you could adjust it though, but not disable it (can't recall)
