i got the cold weather pack...not sure what I'll use the auto folding mirrors for though.
and now, I just got a job south of orlando (moving in a couple months) so won't be needing that cold weather pack either....oh well a heated seat is still nice when its 60 out LOL

I got the LED headlights on my F56 (without the turning feature) and noticed when I turned them on in the garage that the height of the beam changes as they come on. Not exact measurements but when they come on the top of the beam is say 3 feet above the ground then within a second or so it's like opaque shield comes down and they're only say 2 feet above the ground. I think this is maybe how they do high beams on the LED lights - not with more illumination but physically changing the light pattern. Maybe I'll don my welding helmet and see if I can see anything moving in there.

Shouldn't be anything moving in the LED lights. I remember reading on how they did the LED Cornering lights that it was a total re-do of how BMW cornering lights used to work, where they had light mounted on some sort of swivel. Said that because the LEDs had to be fixed in place, they just added MORE of them that turn on in phase, pointed in different directions, as you take corners. I'd imagine what you're seeing is done the same in some way? Pretty cool all the same =)
My understanding is that the LED lights "self-level" when they are turned on. Thats probably what you are seeing.
That sounds like a possible scenario, but if what you're saying is true then the whole "bulb" mechanism is moving downward as they light up. That would be a relatively complicated situation. I can't say you're wrong but it makes me want to look up there even more. I won't have a chance to do this until mid next week, but if somebody hasn't come up with a definitive answer by then - that's exactly what I'll do.
The LED lights are basically the same as the HID lights in that regard -- self leveling.
If you go uphill, the lights adjust down a bit tomatoey pointing on the road. Adjusting up a bitif you're going downhill.
I believe they are also shuttered the way the HID lifts were on the R56. Shutter down for low beams, shutter up for high beams rather than having a separate bank of lights for high beams.
The shutter and leveling are two different things.
This was new tonight, I went out and added some music to the HD and ran the car round the neighborhood. When I got out of the car as I was going in I noticed the light around the center ring was pulsing in red. It did it for like 1-2 minutes then it stopped. It's weird I've only had it for like 3 days but never seen this before.
Can the power-folding mirrors be set (in the menus?) to automatically fold-in when the car is switched off? Most cars with power-folding mirrors have that option, vs a manual toggle (i.e. Button).
