Maybe comfort access takes the feature away? I can't figure it out

I don't have comfort access. So that's not it.

I have comfort access and the mirrors don't fold in after holding the lock button for 5 seconds. Makes no sense.

Mine work fine.

Mirror switch is set to the drivers side if that makes any difference?

The dealer showed me this when I collected the car.

Literally just hold my finger on the lock button for 3 seconds or so and the mirrors fold in. They also then unfold upon pressing the open button.

My car is specced with power fold mirrors and not comfort access.

Not sure why it is not working for others!!

Maybe that feature isn't on US-spec cars.

Ok this happened today...got my phone connected. Car has 2 voices a female is the car, and a male for climate. Tells you when the car is at warmed up temp. Also had sunroof open and it started sprinkling rain and the car asked me if I wanted close the roof that it felt rain on its nose. And when I turned off the car it reminded me "Don't forget with the forecast to close the roof or I'll turn from MINI to a MINI POOL. And when I closed the roof the guy voice "climate" said "Bye bye blue sky and I will get you air to comfortable level for you" pretty cool for a few laughs. And ohhh they bicker back and forth also. It also told me I had 8 gallons of gas lets get going.

Heh, that's pretty neat. Are the voices through the "Mission Control" feature?

Does this happen within the car itself? Or it has to do with your phone?

You get a taste of it in this review starting at 2:23 - Feels like the announcement before getting on a roller coaster. As he says: How would this ever get old!!

It's the mission control setting, nothing to do with the phone, I turned it on for a little bit but turned it off again pretty quickly.

All the silly options in that computer would have been cool to see a 0-60 timer, and a systems page showing engine temp, volts, amps, oil temp and pressure etc.

Yea it's under mission control, I was under the impression thou it wouldn't work unless your phone was connected. I have a iPhone just running USB. I did find also a temp gauge that shows up on the connect screen also, don't remember where it was I'll try and find it again.

Probably dumb question... where is the mission control setting?

Mission control pops up on mine when my phone is connected with the MINI connect app launched, then go to MINI connect in the car.

Cruise Control

I have a manual in my F56S and noticed I can shift gears without cancelling the cruise setting. I was running along at 65MPH with the cruise set when I realized I was in 5th. I shifted into 6th and expected to have to "resume" the cruise but it just picked right up and continued. Don't know if this is unusual, but it was unexpected to me.

That doesn't sound right. With my current 09 R56 MCS, when I put the clutch in, it kills cruise control, but then again, I'm not usually going to another gear -- I'll sometimes go to neutral (for some period of time) by taking it out of gear on a long freeway exit ramp going uphill to the light. When the clutch goes in, the engine doesn't race, i.e. trying to provide more gas to maintain speed. But perhaps if you go to a new gear within X amount of time, the cruise will resume.
