F55/F56 2014 JCW 'Concept"
Looks awesome... but... this is not the f56! Look at the front end in side view pic. Look at short hood and small amount of front end overhang. This is just a nice looking photoshop car (like the rocketman). Wait till they slap this look on the 'pretty' new body! I'll guess it will look like a fish with big wheels and stripes.

This is a computer generated rendering, therefor it's not paint at all.

That would be a very cool finish for a Mini. I was originally planning for a brush steel/orange theme on my Mini S similar to this one:

Such a finish is not entirely out of the question. I've wrapped my current Fiat Abarth in brushed black metallic (sorry for the low quality photos):

3M produces four brushed vinyl varieties (black, blue, gold, steel, aluminum, and titanium). I'm rather curious about the finish displayed on the JCW above, whether they plan for it to be a wrap or produced by another method. In any case, easily replicable by anyone who would like such a finish.

Interesting and cool red accents on that car. That'll get some attention. I like the spoiler too. 2015 huh? Don't think I have time to wait that long. I want my F56 next year. I bet the HP is out of sight with the new 2.0 liter engine though. BTW, I've never seen brushed metal paint like that. I'll believe it when I see it.

Wow! It just keeps getting uglier! The base model is best looking of the f56 models, but that's not saying much! Way too busy! Ugliest snout of the lot and what the heck were they thinking with the rear....
Pass. I'll take the next gen (MK7) Golf R with AWD and nearly 300 hp......

Actually, choice of manual or DSG
"The 0-62 mph time will take you just 5.3 seconds in manual-equipped models. Opt for the DSG ‘box and you’re looking at a time of just 4.9 seconds."

I know , opinions are like_____(fill in the blank). Anyway, I think the black trim on the grill surround seems to help the look of the front end. If you were to remove those extra red lines and swooshes I think this is a good looking version. I am disappointed with the S, but the JCW could be the big winner. Time will tell, I still need to see it in different colors.

that is a fantastic concept-stripes have to go, but otherwise I really like it
As an aside, since a pix of it was stuck in the thread, I feel I am free to comment on it. That Fiat 500 is a really awful-looking car. I have seen several and it's just a very bad look...some kind of morphed Smart car?

Mini has lost me!

Strangely the paint looks like brushed aluminum in some of the close up shots. You guys think that is concept exclusive or some form of production paint??

Sorry Mini, but you have lost me as an enthusiast. I'm going back to my hotrod Mopar roots when my lease runs out on my 2013 Mini JCW Roadster. This car looks all right, but has started to get too much German BMW in it. Is that a bad thing? Probably not, but I liked my previous JCW F56. It was simple to look at, not much controversy, Got just enough attention, and was reasonably fast. The JCW still needs at least 250 hp and torque in my estimation. That's something that we don't know about this JCW yet, now they have 2.0 liter to work with. Ford is going to get over 305 hp, probably will wind up at 330 hp. That's from a 2.3. Why can't Mini, at least in the JCW, get 250 to 275 hp? They claim that they are not about hp, well what are they about.
Again, back to my roots, I'm thinking about a 69 Barracuda with a 3rd generation hemi. I like the shape, the modern power train for performance and economy, plus get this, the weight will be 2800 lbs or less. Isn't that in the Mini Cooper area of weight now? Before the nay sayers say that weight is not possible, remember the Barracuda had a shipping weight of 3,050 lbs, take 150 off for the new hemi, and what I'm going to do to the front suspension, Wa-la, 2800 lbs.
Anyway, By Mini, and I hope my ranting hasn't been a bore to you guys and

The MK7 Golf R looks sex so far. I'm biased thou as I crossed over to the Dub side a year ago after having 2 MINIs.
The power you can get out of VW's 2L TSI is just amazing, so you'd think like someone above mentioned that BMW could at least squeak 275hp out of their new 2L for the JCW???
Once the VW aftermarket like APR get a hold of the new MK7 I bet we will easily see over 400hp no prob and stupid 0-60's like low 3 seconds. Sub 4 second times are already manageable in the current MK6 R with Stage 2 software, and intake and a turboback....
Yep. in fact i was thinking that an APR stage 1 might even be close to 350 with gobs of torque!
I love the brushed metal paint job!!
Mini needs to paint the front bumper and blend it into the car, like the rear bumper! The rear bumper has paint on it to better blend it to the car, they need to do the same with the front because it looks like someone gave it a fat lip! Wonder if Mini is still going to be using the Warner turbo in the 2015 JCW model?
