@maaii hi, I have installed oem taillights and harness from Aliexpress.
I have coded them with Bimmercode like in the video below but they don't turns on…
Are you able to provide me some instructions to help me with coding please ?

My Clubman is a 2018 model.
Thanks !

Edit 23 April 2026 : Hi, after some visual researches I realized that the black connector (the small one) of my Aliexpress harness version was mounted up side down !
I have to unpinned it, turn it to 180 deg and then repinn. I hope it will help someone who is stuck like I was.

Hi I have a 2019 Pre-LCI Mini Clubman S All4 and interested in retrofitting with new LCI UJ Tail Lights.

This is a long thread, over many years, and it seems like the most people have gone with @maaii solution, buying his adapter cables then doing some programming using BimmerCode. I have reached out to maaii with some questions which he has very quickly replied to all. I am comfortable with BimmerCode.

Just still a little confused on which tail lights to buy to use with maaii's adapter cables. ??

I see that esctuning.com has these LCI UJ LCI tali lights for sale, you need both a left and right unit each costing $436.99
https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...t/63217487795/

But I also see offered on esctuning.com this tail light set (both right and left units) costing $478.79 and being sold for an upgraded for Pree-LCI cars. No mention of adapter cables or coding necessary.
https://www.ecstuning.com/b-ziza-par...1-f5417-rd-a~/

Seems like there must be some difference in functionality between the two UJ tail light product offerings, but I don't understand what that is and which ones should I get to use with maaii's adapter cable. Big price difference between the two tail light products.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

Rob

The adapter cables that Maaii sells are to retrofit Genuine Mini taillights whereas the cheaper ECS lights are a knockoff version. I personally went with the Genuine Mini lights bc in the past, I have found that there could be visibility issues with cheap LED's not getting bright enough in the daytime. As for some cost savings on Genuine Mini parts, I would recommend searching on eBay for used left and right taillights. Just make sure that when buying the lights separately, the specs match (make sure they both say SAE or ECE). Otherwise you will have different coloured turn signals (SAE = Red turn signals, ECE = Amber turn signals)

@Aderan - Thanks for the information clarifying maaii’s cable and I’ll look for a set of Genuine Mini Tail Lights.

Could someone please help me by sending me the exact Bimmercode instructions to correct this? That would be great🙂
Best regards✌️
Hi, I'm stuck at this step, did you fixed that ?
I'm very interested by the solution.
Thanks

Hello everyone,

I was able to get a set of 2022 OEM UJ Tail lights for cheap. I see the adapters with the blue connectors are widely available on eBay. But there don't seem to be any clear instructions on how to do the cable swaps in the footwell. I understand I'll need a tool to remove the cables, but do I need any extra cable for the wiring? Are they available to purchase? Does anyone have any more detailed instructions?

Thanks! Pat

Yes. I actually did have an issue with the brake lights, but it was because I had swapped the wrong pin 32 cable. But I did notice that the brake lights are now only on the UJ lights and not the bumper lights. I’m in the US and apparently we don’t have rear fog lights. Are the bumper lights useless now?

If you have the correct coding, the light on the bumper will illuminate when you open the tailgate.

Just tried it and they don’t light up. Do you have the coding required to do this? I’m using Bimmercode.
