Anyone have any experience in retrofitting the new lights? I've purchased the lights and realised that the plugs are different.. some sort of customization is required for the plugs to fit
@2017All4 probably knows better than me, but in addition to the need to be model year appropriate, my understanding was that getting the UJ tail lights to work involved some (dealer) programming...
My experience. Clubman 2017 by default all headlights and tail lights are halogen. Retrofitting with new Union Jack lights – new connectors, much deeper programming. Need an adapter between the old connectors and the new light. A difficult question for the encoding - brake lights. By default, they are only in the bumper.
I'm curious about swapping out my tail lights with UJ lights. My car is a 2019, and should (I guess?) have LED tail lights already (it came with option 5A4 LED Headlights, so I wonder if it's safe to assume it has LED tail lights, they are the type with the '.))' shape to the lights).
I found the first pic above came from a shop called Mulgari in the UK, they sell a retrofit kit: https://mulgari.com/shop/exterior-st...-retrofit-kit/ . Their description suggests there is a "fitting kit", I'm guessing this is just an adapter cable, and is only required if the car had halogen tail lights?
I wonder if anyone has tried just buying the new UJ tail lights and swapping them in to a car that already had LED lights...and, what is the actual part number for the UJ tail lights anyway? Haven't been able to find them on the various parts places yet...
You will not find any part numbers on REALOEM anymore as they will not update for the 2020+ LCI as we know of( they have all the pre 2020 stuff. So you can reach out to us and we can dig them up other ways. .
Not sure...did you have halogen or LED lights before the upgrade, and did the UJ tail light have the same connector as your original?
I know that for the F56 LED swap, the "cold" and "warm" monitoring for both LED brake lights had to be disabled, in addition to actually setting them to LED...
I am wondering if you also need these adapters when you already have full led lights. And when fitted if the break lights in the bumper move to the inside.
What about, when you open the doors, do the lights in the bumper then still go on? this is a safety feature so the car is still visible when the doors are open. Does it still work after this mod?
and what about the emergency brakes feature. Does that also still work? I had the Mini F55 cooper s and i installed LCI lights on that model also, I had to do allot of coding to make sure all features worked still. Especially emergency breaking part.
@maaii Please be kind to create a small tutorial, step by step. What adaptations did you do in Esys/bimmercode? What is the final product? is it like OEM? Do all features work?

------> Yes, use fdl coding can solve this issue. Please check the pic as below.
All function works and without error. only fog light on bumper is different with LCI.
