Sheesh.

Aliexpress is one source but after you send your money you're waiting a long time and you're unsure of the product that will arrive...

Those of you that have blackouted your vehicle would you please provide some details please and thanks.

I am wanting:

1. 6 door handles including the front comfort access ones.
2. front and rear light trim
3. front grill trim
4. beltline
5. emblems including all4
6. hood scoop which allows air intake

Thanks in advance.

Would think that the likes of Out Motoring and ECS would carry all that stuff. Several others also come to mind like Detroit Tuned, Pelican Parts and Mini Mania.

Here is some of the retrofits, most of the F54 stuff is not out yet. Then you can plug the 11 digits oem part number into our site. Most people on the newer cars just buy the tape or the buy the 3M black gloss and wrap it. Then they can take it off later down the road if they sell the car. It matches the OEM blackline very well.

Thanks for the help.

Sure would be nice if someone offered a kit wherein all the pieces were already pre-cut and then the consumer could take a stab at DIY installation...

Cheers.

We already have the door handle covers

And for the beltline I find the black plasti dip works best.

For the other stuff we are waiting on MINI to release it all.

Well $530 from outmotoring.com to cover 6 door handles, headlights and taillights, front grill trim and the beltline... or wait for my appointment to get them wrapped on July 7th and save about $100. Just don't know which will give me the best results?

Thoughts?

If you have live in an area with harsh weather conditions, like snow or extreme heat, the plastic trim would probably last longer. Eventually you might have to reapply some double sided tape to whatever areas aren't sticking anymore because rain and dirt get through. For vinyl, you will have to go back to the person and spend more time/money getting it redone. But it can be inexpensive if it is just one or two areas that need to be patched up.

Expect 1-2 years of life before needing to do some kind of maintenance with either solution.

What did you end up going with? I recently decided I wanted to do the whole blackout thing too.

I just listed an extra set of brand new Gloss Black Door Handle overlays for Comfort Access in the selling forum.

$150 shipped.

For a new car no, but for an older one such as mine; tape, paper, paint and some black tape worked out fine. Perhaps $15 in supplies.
