vinyl stock, decal material source

I searched, I did! Does anyone have a source for decal material stock, like tapes, or sheets that I can cut to make custom stuff. Not complicated, but matt black...
Mmm, what's he up to?

thanks

Local sign shop should be able to take care of you...

It's a bit pricey re-buying it from a sign shop... When I did my blacked-out grille, I bought a peice of material from a sign shop and paid like 5X what I would have paid for simple black-out tape.

I'd ask someone like Dragonflyer (of Asthetic Creations) or Ed at Cooperflags.com (not sure of his user ID but their address is: info@cooperflags.com) where they get their bulk material. they might only be able to steer you to mass quantitues, however if you end up with lots more than you need I might be interested in splitting costs or something.

Were ypu planning on cutting your designs by hand or do you have access to a mechanical cutter/plotter?

PS - just looking at vnyl cutters I ran across this:

http://www.beacongraphics.com/start-ultracal-kit.html

10-yard rolls of 24" wide material - should be plenty for car graphics... The URL is for a complete sign-making startup kit, but has individual prices per roll... Maybe they can sell you just the rolls you need.

Let me know if this works for you!

Thanks so much, ImagoX! I'm not planning on a complex shape (I had AC do my chip guards originally, but ended up making my own out of magnetic vinyl -- and I like the new shape better.) Anyway, I'll try the link. I could even use 6" wide tape for my project, so we'll see how it turns out.

cheers, and thanks.

Dude...you rock! I have been searching for rolls of vinyl and that site looks like they have just what I need.

Actually that (blackout tape) would be better as I want matte finish, not glossy black. I didn't see any matte finish on their site.
