Radiator refill

hi all...
i have a 2011 Clubman S. just replaced the gaskets on my oil filter housing.
in filling the radiator, my manual tells me to bleed coolant till it flows out from the bleed screws. it shows pics of the bleed screws in the Mk1 set up but not my Mk2... i don't see any. can somebody tell /show me where they are in a MK2?

thanks in advance.

Dave

Save yourself some grief, and try to get hold of a vacuum coolant fill tool.

Something like this:

That would likely be your most reliable route. I actually pressure filled my system through the lower reservoir line till I got coolant back out the upper line. I then followed the car's coolant bleed process with the car running through its programmed process. After that I only had to top off the reservoir once after driving for a few days. Actually easier than expected when reading through the published methods for bleeding our cars. YMMV, good luck.

Yes. It isn't actually an overflow / reservoir tank, but part of the pressurized cooling system.

What I did was use my Mityvac vacuum/pressure pump and used in reverse. Here is the kit I have: Mityvac MV8500 I filled up the reservoir bottle with coolant, plugged it into the lower line of the reservoir tank that goes back to the engine, used the Mityvac on pressure to force the fluid out back into the coolant system. I kept pumping in coolant till the coolant fed back into the upper line of the reservoir tank. It was a little slow and took several refills of the bottle, but worked great.

That would certainly create issues with the cooling system. Hope all goes well once the new parts are in place.
