Coolant issues
Coolant issues
I recently had my bent to hell ac condenser and radiator replaced after two days I over heated. No coolant what so ever. Radiator was brand new. Filled it back up and within minutes it was running down the sides of the radiator and empty again. Faulty radiator? Any other ideas?
Could have been a bad radiator but BOTH sides??? The chances of both sides failing at the same time are rare. You could have blockage somewhere in the system that caused excessive pressure. Whomever did the work, did they change the thermostat and pressure test the system? Original reservoir and cap?
Would an improperly installed thermostat (like backwards and/or the little hole not installed at the top) do this? If the system wasn't burped properly, or wasn't able to be due to aforementioned condition(s) perhaps the motor overheated and blew the radiator (?)
Would think it could also be you got a bad radiator.
Hopefully no issues at this point with oil and water appearance (i.e. normal, no milkshakes in the expansion tank or lattes in the crank case). Might want to check...
Edit: additional question just curious are you running an OEM plastic coolant expansion tank or an aftermarket metal one?
