Refill the radiator and burp it

Can someone help me out with the correct procedure on how to refill and burp the cooling system after a radiator change out...changing out the radiator doesn't appear to be too hard but not sure about how to refill and vent the system so I don't have a trapped air pocket...any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks, L A

In previous cars...brute force. I bounce the car with the cap off and the air rishes to the opening... takes a bit to do (about 30 minutes)

pretty simple

It's pretty simple. I had my radiator hose off this summer to replace the cooling fan assembly and thus had to refill most of the coolant. I removed the bleed screw (see thread linked above) and just poured premixed coolant into the overflow tank. With the bleeder open, it seems to flow and fill just fine. Then run the engine a bit, bleed at the screw again, and top up the tank. I checked the level in the tank a couple of times for a few drives after this, but the level stayed the same.

I just put all of the new coolant into the overflow tank.

Just a word of caution: there are multiple bleed points in the 1st Gen cooling system. There have been a few reports of owners and third party mechanics not knowing this and inadvertently leaving air trapped in the system, later manifested by a gurgling sound behind the instrument panel.

Here's a fairly good reference thread:
