I have owned my 2005 mcs for about three years and have recently been in a minor fender bender. I have located a 2002 mcs as a parts car and want to take some parts off it for my carand was wondering how similar the 2002 and 2005 mcs' were. The parts I need to replace is the radiator, the radiator support, the hood, and all the hood accessories, and finally the front bumper. Any help is much appreciated.

 

I believe the hood, bumper and radiator components should work. (someone correct me if I'm wrong). You can compare part numbers for the hood of the 2002 MCS here with the 2005 MCS here. Radiator and support part number for '02 here and '05 here. '02 bumper here '05 bumper here. Real OEM is great for these sorts of things. Hope it helps!

 

Bumper will fit but has a different style to it and a smaller grille opening, the ones in Canada do anyway. Also the headlights if you have the HID on the 05 will be different and wont have the washers.

 

The bumpers on Cooper models changed with the facelift, but on Cooper S models the only front end change (aside from the headlights) was the chrome surround for the grill.

 

+1 The headlight were the change over on the 2005 MCS and that smooth grille trim design vs the indented trim design.
