Rallye Deutschland (16-19 AUG 2007)

Is it too early to start planning to meet at Rallye Deutschland this year?

Anyone live in the area, who can serve as our Julie McCoy? Hook us up with hotel accomodations, show off the local biers afterwards, sneak us to the right places to watch the runs?

I'm planning on going -- it's a couple of hours from my house -- and would love to see other miniacs there, too.

Big Sarge? Flake? Loesches?

You forgot my name on that list, wtf? j/k.. no its not too early. Can you tell me more details about Rallye Deutchland? Sounds like a fun event. Might not have my MINI or wheels then but we'll see.

You know, Rudy, for the last ten days or so I've had Rudy Can't Fail by the Clash stuck in my head as an earworm. Wonder why?

Rallye Deutschland. I went a few years ago. Out in the Baumholder / Trier area. I envision a meet up in a parking lot (somewhere), a zippy curvy drive, and parking all over the country side before hiking up to see the cars run. Could be Trier, could be on the American kaserne there. Afterwards, maybe dinner and a bier.

It's also Nitrolympics weekend at Hockenheimring, so it maybe be Trier one day, the Hock the other. Would be ideal if we had a local along, to scout things out for us all.

I have voices in my head right now, though I keep ignoring them

This sounds like a great idea. Trier is in my backyard. The best advice for getting the locals involved is to post this idea at www.mini2.info I would have done this already, but seemed fitting for you to since its your idea. Don't worry about english. Most of the members speak better english than we do.

Afterwards post the details here so all of those silent NAM users will see the details and attend.

Alright, with RudyT back in the States, looks like this could get more complicated. Anyone actually live out that way?
