anybody tried yellow PIAA H11's?

anybody tried using plasma ion yellow PIAA H11's in their stock fog lights? i'm toying w/ replacing the H11's w/ yellow bulbs 'cuz it'd look pretty cool w/ the HID, and it seems PIAA is the only one making 'em. any electrical problems w/ using these? they're rated for 55W but claim to have 110W output

i've used PIAA bulbs before and they tend to burn out sooner than others, which is fine w/ me as long as they won't damage/fry the electrical system

guess nobody's tried it. guess i won't get it then, don't want the higher wattage to melt the housing and it's kind of a superfluous thing anyway

I have had them for a couple of years now (same pair). They look and work great. The trick to making them last (as with any bullb) is to clean them with denatured alcohol and install them with a lint free cloth.

I guess it is the same wattage, so no problemo, figure the "have 110W output" is more sales gimmick??

I run `em in the fog lights of my BMW R1150RT M/C. Quite honestly, I chose the yellows because they make people look in the rear-view mirror when I'm aproaching to overtake. Visibility is paramount on a bike, so these were a good choice and work effectively.

I wish they were more effective at lighting the road. I did a A/B comparison with PIAA H3's in Spark Blue (4500 degrees) and the Sparks penetrated the space in front of the bike much better and "appeared" to throw more usable light out in front. I've never been caught in a thick fog to guage usability in those conditions, but I'd rather take the MINI if it's that crappy outside!

I do agree with a lot of what he says though.

That being said I see no harm coming from using those in your fogs, especially if you want yellow fogs. Personally I like yellow fogs.

55W = 100W = Pure BS !!!

Actually ... besides the BS ... I'm thinking more about price, not the color. Yellow is cool! There is simply no reason to spend $75 (on Amazon) or whatever a pair of those bulbs cost. Just google h11 yellow and you get a lot of hits, far cheaper

I run Nokya bulbs in my fogs. You can get them on Ebay for <$25. I don't run with my fogs on all the time and haven't had a problem in a year or so of use. Even if they don't last as long, the price difference makes up for the lifespan.

I had no idea those were that expensive!!! Wow they must be made of solid gold.

I just may look into those Nokya fleaBay bulbs.

I used bulbs from hoen-usa.com. They are called endurance bulbs and mine were $35. I've had them for 5 months now and have had no problems. Only difference is mine are in my daytime running lights so they are always on.
