Automatically? Nope. That'd be sweet tho. Why?

My key FOBs just stopped working after only putting a few hundred miles on it (car) over the winter. Now driving regularly for a few months I figure the FOBs batteries are all charge I'd give this a shot.

Okay, old thread but still relevant.

I just received a new key from the dealer. Followed the programming procedure to program both keys. After programming, both keys worked, but after a couple of hours only one key will lock/unlock remotely and the other won't. This happened twice now. The first time the new key stopped working and the second time the old key stopped working. Any thoughts?

Same thing here. got a second key, but then the first one wouldn't work, so a programmed it, then the second wouldn't work. I just put the new key away and figured I could program it if necessary when I needed it. I read somewhere that they needed to be programmed within a few seconds of each other to have them both work. don't know for sure. post up when you try that

I get them both to work when doing the programming. Two - three hours later, only one works.

Any ideas? A bad fuse or anything?
The central locking works when I use the key in the door
Both keys were working before I disconnected the battery.

Same here, did you ever solve the problem ?

I started the car with both keys and cycled the locks

Syncing key with transpomder

I just bought a second key for my 2006 Mini Cooper S. It locks and unlocks doors and rear lid, but does not start car. I was told it needed to be programmed to the transponder.
Anyone know how that's done? Thanks!
