Euro Spec Switch Panel

Alright so I'm looking at getting a switch panel from Europe that has all of the switches in it unlike the US ones that are missing one or a couple because I want a full switch panel for rally lights. The ones from Europe have ASC and the ones in the US have DSC. Will it mess with the computer if I put the new panel in? Also I'm trying to put the aux rally lights into the rear fog light circuit switch. Any Ideas on how to make the lights work off the rear fog light switch?

This is the one I'm thinking about getting but I don't know if I will be able to tap into the rear fog light circuit after having it activated

It's not a "euro" spec part.
We just call it a full toggle panel it's the same part for US or non US cars. The difference will be in the options the car had. Some cars had ASC and some DSC so it would just be based off which options the car had what it says, then if it did or didn't have front and rear fogs.
The switch panel is literally just a ground input to the body control unit so it doesn't matter what it says, it will work for a car with ASC or DSC as it's the same signal to turn either off.

After install you will need the car coded to make the rear fog lights work as the rest of the car is prewired for them.

We do have a used one in stock, otherwise we can get you a new one but it's over $300 for new now.

Thank you very much for the clarification. I don't know much about wiring do you have any tips on how to route my rally lights into that switch panel once I get the switch activated?

you need to use a different setup for rally lights as this panel is just a ground input for the computer no actual current goes through it.
So in order for you to control other lights you would have to set them up to use a ground input which would be much more work.

Wonder if you can access that momentary ground signal from the "dead" switch position?

Then use a simple, stand alone, sealed latching relay and make a harness for that... fogs, driving etc... probably cheaper and less hassle than coding.?
Plus, you can then use a super bright LED for the lamp as opposed to the feeble 921 bulb that MINI uses.

Is there a wire in the connector going into the switch?

A latching relay would give you the same function... momentary-toggle on, momentary-toggle off.

So there's no way to just hardwire my rally lights into the wire that would theoretically go to the rear fog light? I thought if there was a wire going out the back of the switch panel that would go to a rear fog light I might be able to just route that to the front lights.

Just add a switch to the knee bolster under the left air vent. Or if you have the parcel shelf, there's a switch blank already cut for the driving lights.

Since the factory 'switch panel' uses/provides a momentary ground (-) contact from the switch.... I'd imagine that it would be pretty easy to get a ground trigger signal from that and isolate it from the vehicles BCM.

Nice thing about the latching relay with the ground trigger... you can wire it so that it will go off and reset itself when the ignition is turned off !

If you're ready to order, please paypal
AlvaAutoUp@gmail.com along with your NAM username, name and address, and default settings you want.

Current options:
  • Auto Up Driver
  • Auto Up Passenger
  • Auto Down Driver
  • Auto Down Passenger
  • Dual Auto Up (Both windows go up with double click of driver side button)
  • Dual Auto Down (Both windows go down with double click of driver side button)
  • Track Mode (DSC off on startup)
  • Auto Front Fog (turns on with headlight)
  • Auto Rear Fog (turns on with headlight)
I've uploaded two YouTube videos showing how to attach the module to the switch panel, and another on how to program the module.

These are also firmware upgradeable, so if you think of any options you might want in future releases please let me know. Right now i'm testing UK mode which just swaps the drivers side window controls for dual up/down to the right of the switch panel instead of the left.

Thanks,
Luis
