Yeah, I'm glad you responded to this actually, because I have a feeling you might know the answer.
I'm having an auxillary program worked into Ian's auto-up circuit. I don't currently have rear fogs, but I will use the (currently non-existant) rear fog switch to operate my aftermarket rally lights.
With the use of the circuit, do I still have to have the dealer reprogram?
And honestly, if I can get the whole panel for reasonably cheap, it's less hassle to me than drilling out the hole and adding a switch.

It depends how Ian has engineered the circuit. Most likely you would not need a reprogram, as that would assume it was activated through the BC1. Odds are it is seperate - but that would require a seperate wire to trigger the lights.
I'm betting nobody will sell the full panel for cheap (what's reasonable, anyway?
)
In any case, I can get you a toggle, and do the drilling if you'd like (I've done a few.) Up for a drive to the beach?

Okay then, deal! When the stuff from Ian comes back (he has the light wiring harness and everything), I'll drop you a message

No need to reprogram.
In fact, you won't be able to use the original rear fog functionality, becuase I'll be cutting the tracks on the MINI circuit (note: you will be able to use original function if the MINI circuit is removed - so maybe a future car owner).
I planned to do the circuit mod so that the LED tip will indicate when the external lights are on. If you (or Eric) add a single toggle to your panel, you won't have the LED so that feature won't work. But I suppose you'll be able to tell if the lights are on by looking through the windscreen

The lighted toggles don't actually have an LED in them, they have an acrylic(?) center which transmits light from a source behind the toggle. I'll take a look tonight and see if the LED is there in a non-toggle panel.
